Hello everyone! A very great rainy day, isn't it 😍? How are you all? I hope you're doing well and enjoying life. It's wonderful to be back again, haruki.tls123 here with my latest blog post. Connecting with you and sharing updates about my journey always brings me joy. So, let's catch up and delve into some of the events recently.
Today's topic is a significant milestone in my life—I am now officially enrolled in college at St. Cecilia's College — Cebu, Inc. De La Salle Supervised School. This marks the beginning of a thrilling new chapter in my academic journey, filled with fresh experiences, challenges, and opportunities. I am eager to share my initial impressions, the enrollment process, and my aspirations as I embark on this new adventure. So, without further ado, let's dive into the details of this exciting new phase!
As you all know, I recently graduated from senior high school (which I have a blog post about) with high honors and other notable achievements. Now, it's time to prepare for college life. Selecting the right school or university and course is one of the most crucial decisions I must make, requiring careful consideration and critical thinking. The course I choose will shape my college journey and ultimately define who I will become in the future.
Additionally, I was fortunate enough to be one of the recipients of the LGU scholarship in our city, which provides discounts at various universities. I'm proud to say that out of thousands who tried, I ranked 23rd, and for that, I'm truly thankful. I was initially unsure about which school to attend, although I was already set on taking BSED Mathematics as my course. However, during the orientation for the LGU scholarship passers, one particular school caught my attention: St. Cecilia's College, located in Minglanilla, Cebu.
They mentioned that passers of the LGU scholarship at St. Cecilia's College wouldn't have to pay for tuition, uniforms, or other expenses, including graduation costs. This school is a De La Salle Supervised School and a private institution, so typically there would be fees. But realizing that I ranked 23rd and had this incredible opportunity for free education, I decided to take it. The only expense would be the transportation, which is manageable since the school is close to our location. So, I decided to enroll there, and yes, I officially enrolled yesterday.
So, yesterday afternoon, we arrived at the location, and there were a lot of people gathered around. Fortunately, we spotted the sir who mentioned the free expenses, and he was the one who entertained us inside the campus. I was with my mom and my little brother, JM. The process was incredibly smooth, almost as if I received special treatment since I was an LGU scholarship passer. They immediately conducted an interview and had me fill out forms without any hassle.
And yes, I brought my envelope with the logo of my alma mater, Naga National Senior High. In this envelope, I carried all my documents—of course, we have to be complete since this is college we're talking about, BWAHAHAHA! After submitting the documents, I was directed to the fourth floor to get to know my schedule and subjects for the upcoming school year.
When I was sent to the fourth floor, my eyes widened at the sight of my subjects, BWAHAHAHA! What shocked me even more was that my classes start on August 1 as a student of BSED Mathematics. But I can handle this... for my future, BWAHAHAHAHA! I filled out more forms there and submitted them to the computer laboratory for input. Then, I waited for my name to be called.
I chose the morning session for my schedule because it's cooler in the morning and I feel more productive during this time. The afternoons can get unbearably hot, and evenings just aren't my forte. Plus, I find that I can focus better and retain more information when I study in the morning. Here is my schedule list, hehehehehe:
Next, after I submitted my papers and waited for my name to be called, something unexpected happened—a rosary prayer began. Oh, that's right, St. Cecilia's College is a Catholic school! This made me even happier since this is exactly what I wanted. If you look at my schedule, you'll see that there are subjects dedicated to religion, which is a great thing. Having God present in every aspect of our lives is important because it provides guidance, strength, and a moral compass. It's reassuring to know that my education will be enriched with spiritual growth and values, helping me to become a well-rounded individual who can face challenges with faith and perseverance.
And after some time, my name was finally called. I was immediately directed to the ground floor to meet with the registrar. There, they checked all my documents and officially stamped my papers, confirming that I was now enrolled. The feeling of relief and excitement washed over me as I realized that my journey as a college student was about to begin.
After my inquiry to the registrar, I was finally enrolled at St. Cecilia's College! My excitement and nervousness blended together, but one thing was clear—I was determined to achieve my dreams no matter what. The registrar mentioned that we needed to come back before classes started for our ID photos, but then we saw the same sir from earlier. He informed us that we should return the next day (Friday) since everything, including the ID, ID sling, uniforms, and PE attire, was free for me until graduation. It was heartwarming to know that such support was available, and I felt truly blessed.
Before heading home, my little brother requested to play at the arcade in the mall near St. Cecilia's College. So, we decided to spend some time there, letting him enjoy himself. It was a great way to end the day, filled with excitement and the promise of new beginnings.
After playing at the arcade, we headed home. On our way back to Naga, we stopped by the church because there was a parade going on. We decided to join in to thank God for the blessings and opportunities we've received. It was a meaningful moment, participating in the parade and expressing our gratitude for this new chapter in my life. After the parade, we finally went home and took some much-needed rest.
Right now, I'm diving into research related to my subjects and starting to review in advance. This isn't just high school anymore; it's a whole new level. I need to work even harder than I did before. The journey ahead is challenging, but I'm determined to give it my all and make the most out of this college experience.
This experience has been both exciting and nerve-wracking. From the initial steps of enrollment to the final confirmation of my student status at St. Cecilia's College, every moment has been a mix of emotions. The process of choosing a college, securing a scholarship, and finally seeing my name on the enrollment list has made me realize how crucial this step is for my future. The support from my family and the opportunities presented by the LGU scholarship have been instrumental in getting me here. As I gear up for this new journey, I'm filled with anticipation and a commitment to excel in my chosen field of Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in Mathematics.
