First, there's no 1st and 2nd anniversary post to retrieve because the community hasn't been keeping track on several milestones. Second, now it is keeping track and we have some events lined up for the week both on chain and over discord.
Post Outline:
- History of the community
- Community Finances

HivePH History as told by @romeskie
It all started at the Hardfork of 2020. The moment we moved to Hive, @hiveph was born together with @hivephilippines. It was an opportunity to start fresh. The vision was still the same, to support Filipinos worldwide. Part of the long term goals of Hive PH was to onboard new members and to promote the Hive Blockchain.
On Steemit, steemph account has its regional divisions like the steemph.manila, steemph.cebu, steemph.laguna, steemph.uae and so on and so forth. During the rebranding, it was decided that we will no longer continue the division and come together as one under hiveph. Instead, hivephilippines account was created, which was originally pegged as a delegate to receive delegation rewards because hiveph wasn’t suited to play the part due to the no powerdown policy.
Instead of upvoting the delegators exclusively, we used the hivephilippines account for curating other posts. This way we could maximize the possible earnings. We then went ahead and distributed a percentage of the earnings to the delegators. The transactions were done manually at first, but thanks to @jazzhero, we were able to have this automated. Up to now, this program is still ongoing. And speaking of automation, @wittyzell has also been doing a lot of great work for Hive PH in that aspect.
Hive PH still kept the promise of not powering down the main account so it can keep on accumulating more HP to be used for growing with the community. The steemph Hive and HBD was transferred to Hive PH and furthermore, Bayanihan also powered up its HP to Hive PH further increasing hiveph's stake. You can see the updates on the account on our monthly report.
True to the vision that we had, we conducted onboarding webinars which has successfully helped a lot of newbies in navigating through the Hive blockchain. We understand the challenges that every newbie faces when they create an account on Hive and so we assisted in every way that we can. As of now, we are pushing for more engagement not just in the blockchain but also in the Hive PH discord server.
3 years in, Hive PH has gone so far from where it was before. And it's not just progress for the sake of progress. I can really see the heart of the people behind the community. I can't wait to see what's next for Hive PH.

Average Income | 209.805 Hive |
---|---|
Total Staff/Community Rewards Distributed | 1015.323 Hive |
Growth since March 2022 to Feb 2023 | 765.24 HP |
Ave. Staked HP Growth per Month | 1% |
It's been 11 months since we started the monthly reporting of the community's finances. The objective was to provide more transparency with how we use our community resources (even if no one asks). People delegate to @hivephilippines and portion of the delegation rewards goes to the community fund, events and staff incentives.
Disclaimer: There were some discrepancies during the time I went through the raw data based from the monthly reports. There was no uniform means of getting the accurate data as some frontends like hivestats.io or peakd were down at times.
Some numbers like the varying interest rate of staked Hive earned were also difficult to track. Everything was done manually and the time the snapshots were taken also contributes to the discrepancy. Even with these limitations we still tried to keep the record keeping as close as we came because we needed a baseline to see community progress.
One of the goals set since the start of 2022 was tackling the issue of reward distribution. There was no established incentive structure for people keeping the community alive. Since the community account was just stacking up rewards and portion of those were given away toward community projects, staff and community members, the numbers have amounted to 1015 Hive.
But this is just the surface value because there were hidden stats that were difficult to track like how much curators/staff were also earning from the beneficiaries set by the account. And the data is only limited to Hive when there were times that HBD was used for prizes. But now we have an answer when it comes to who really benefits more when it comes to utilizing the community resources, it's the community members and not the community account.
The fact that 765.24 Hive as HP meant the community account's growth was stunted because of the value diverted to community members meant the community was investing on it's most valuable resource and that's the people that make up the community.
Expect more posts to follow in celebrating the community's anniversary week.
