Hi Hiver! I'm Gelaiii, a newbie who wanted to explore this field of writing here in hive. I am looking forward to learn a lot and be able to make new friends that could help me nourish my skills in writing.
Before I start this journey of mine, first of all, I wanted to thank my best friend who introduced me to this fascinating platform where I could share my thoughts and ideas through writing. Thank you very much @jiboyskie123, and also thank you so much @ayane-chan for letting me join in this platform.
Let's get started!
Hello everyone, this is Angela and you may call me Gelaiii. I'm 22 years of age, and currently living in Bacolod City. I am currently a second year college student in Bacolod City College (BCC), taking up a course of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSITech).
Let us proceed with my family background. I actually have 10 siblings, and yes we're a very very big family, and that is the reason why I'm behind a year from my friends. I chose to stop studying and decided to work, so that I will be able to help my family in terms of our financial problems, and also to be independent at the very young age and provide my personal needs.
As of my parents, my father is a tricycle driver while my mother is a fish vendor. All of my older siblings have their own family, that's why they keep on pressuring me to graduate and be successful so that, I can help my other younger siblings and also to avoid the path that they have taken. Even if they will not pressure me or anything, I have this dedication in myself that no matter what happens, I will try my best to graduate and prove to them that I can. My hobby is dancing, reading Wattpad stories, and watching K-dramas. Sometimes, I also join in a Beauty Queen Contest here in our school and Barangay.
I decided to join this platform because I wanted to express my self through writing and to share my experiences, while learning at the same time. I know that my writing skill is not that really good and that includes my grammar. So if you see some technical errors, suggestions, or something, I would love to hear it because, I am a person who believes on a saying that, "Learn through your mistakes". Learning through our mistakes doesn't mean that we have failed, but rather an opportunity to do more and do better than before in order to achieve success.
As I have said earlier, I chose to work because of my financial problem so I decided to apply in Gaisano Mall here in the Philippines. I was assigned as a cashier in the department store. Since this is my first work, it was really hard for me to adapt because being a cashier is not easy at all, you need to be mentally and physically present because you are handling a very big amount of money. At this work I was really focused not to make any mistake because if the treasurer found out that the money you have isn't enough, it will be deducted in your salary every 15 days.
"In this experience, life is not easy at all, we have our highs and lows but if you have God everything is possible."
