Hello my dear Hivers!
This is the second part of my previous blog where I’ll highlight the moment we arrived at the place where we’ll be having our duty.
So apparently, it’s not along the highway, it’s a bit inside and the road going there is made of anapog (limestone), which is actually a good thing, because even if it rains, it won’t get too muddy. It’s still within Bogo City, and it’s not that hard to reach, about 3 to 5 minutes from the highway, and you’ll arrive at the office.
When we arrived, there were already many parked vehicles, and we were actually the first ones there. Our other classmates just followed because we couldn’t all fit in one tricycle.
We took a few selfies in the interval, and minutes afterward, Kuya and the rest of the group arrived. As I entered, nerves started kicking in but then, our seniors had already assured myself that there wouldn't be any interviews. We were only there to submit our resumes and cover letters. They asked when we would start our duty, and we just said we’ll start on Monday. The conversation went smoothly, and they also asked a few more questions.
A few minutes later, we were done talking with some of our future superiors, and as we were about to leave, I told the group I’d get off by the highway. But they said we still needed to go to school to get an endorsement letter at the dean’s office.
So, we all went together, and I rode with the same group from earlier. On the way there, Keziah asked if we should wear white shoes on Monday since we’re required to wear our clinical uniforms. I replied, “Oh no, I totally forgot!” Then one of our classmates suggested that we look for white shoes later, maybe in R&F or Shoebox. I said, “Okay, let’s just go after we get the endorsement letter.” By the way, the endorsement letter is needed so we can submit it to the place where we’ll have our duty.
Right after we arrived, we took a group photo first.
Most of us went inside the office since it was air-conditioned, and there weren’t enough chairs so others just squatted while the rest of us stood. We were just chilling there, even if we could’ve waited in the student lounge. We just wanted to cool off because it was really hot earlier.
After a few minutes, we got the letter and Kuya Andrew kept it so he could be the one to submit it.
Now, we headed out to look for white shoes. We spent hours searching. While we were on the way to Shoebox, I saw some ube halaya and asked Keziah, “Is this good? Like, is it really sweet or what?” I asked because I saw that they used a lot of white sugar. She said, “It’s just right, we’ve already tried that, remember?” and I said, “Oh yeah, I forgot. Let’s eat that later, Keziah.” She nodded and said later would be fine.
When we got to Shoebox, there was still none, so I suggested we try Gaisano. Everyone agreed.
While walking to Gaisano, I saw someone selling tempura and said, “Let’s eat tempura!” Then Keziah said, “What exactly are we eating?” I said, “Why not both? I’m hungry already!” And they said, “Okay, okay, let’s eat later after heading to Gaisano.”
After a few minutes, we arrived at Gaisano and luckily, we finally found white shoes that were available, exactly the kind of shoes we were looking for! But it’s not really something we liked, especially the design, so I told them let’s just go with this one for now, and we’ll just order online. I know it’s going to take a while to arrive anyway.
After we bought them, they asked again, “Where are we eating?” I said, “Let’s just eat at Jollibee since it’s cold inside.”
Then Keziah jokingly said, “See? I told you Micah would say Jollibee!” and we all laughed. By the way, right next to Gaisano, there’s a Jollibee, so it was super convenient. Plus, there weren’t many people at the time.
A few minutes later, I just ordered Jolly Spaghetti with fries.
And that’s all for today, my dear Hivers!
