A few weeks ago, my sister graduated college with a course of Bachelor of Science in adminstration major in Marketing Management at University of San Carlos, Cebu. The family was very happy because she graduated Magna Cum laude.
During her graduation ceremony, we were given the complete list of graduates who will walk on stage to receive their diplomas. Mind you, Marketing students alone is about a hundred. Then there's accountancy, political science, and other business and economics courses. I sometimes think of it as similar to the four houses in Harry Potter. Each course has students of distinct quality.
Say for example comparing accountancy versus law students, the former may be better in computations but the latter may have stronger communication skills. Both of which are diligent and studious. For Marketing students, I must that they are more laid back, and most of them have social media and digital skills.
During the graduation, I remember the whole Cebu City got into a heavy traffic because alot of cars are going to the venue. My parents and other siblings were late but just in time for my sister to walk on stage.
I would've love to try marketing or culinary courses too. But somehow, fate had led me to accountancy, which I didn't regret. The only regret I have is the experiences I've missed just because I was succumbed to the pressure and demands of my profession.
I'm proud of my sister for graduating with honors. We often joke her with the lines "Welcome to the real world, haha". Let's face it, after graduation, you are now considered adults. This time, you need to work and find ways on how to survive on your own.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
