Good day, everyone! Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and another Merry Year. I am thrilled to be part of this brand new experience; I am a newbie, and I am very much looking forward to sharing my passion, indulging in new interests, reading about your days, and, of course, being each other's friends.
ABOUT ME
I am Jenny Jave, 21 years old, single, and currently residing in Cebu City. I was not born in the comfort of the city; I am actually from Bohol. I lived far away from the only city found in our province. I spent most of my day trudging mountains and swimming barefoot in the deepest part of the sea.
I grew up in a small town where I knew everyone and vice versa. I am the youngest of six siblings. My father was a fish vendor. He would buy fish from fishermen and sell this all around our town using his motorcycle. My mother was a kindergarten teacher. The saying your first teacher is your mother literally applied to me and my siblings.
I grew up in a loving household; I remember a vivid memory of those times when I could see my mother and father dancing the tango or waltz whenever there was an occasion in our barangay, or we all would sit down after a busy day and talk about random things over our dinner. Of course, I could also remember them fighting, but our family stayed strong. Until my father died in an accident, and we were left without the pillar that grounds the foundation of our house. My mother and sister were also in the accident; it left my mother's legs broken and, until now, unable to mend. My sister, thankfully, survived but also left a massive scar on her right thigh and a fractured collar bone.
My eldest sister, at that time, was a graduating student. She needed to drop some of her subjects in order to work two jobs supporting herself and us; she was unable to graduate on time because of it. My brother stepped up, deciding not to pursue his college education in order to seek a job that would feed his siblings. My other sister and I, older than me in a year, were sent to my father's relative to continue our studies. Thankfully, my family reunited after many months, but without our father, it was not the same. My eldest sister was able to graduate, my brother went off to work, and my mother could not walk without her cane. It was a drastic change in my once picture-perfect reality. I was thrust into a ground I was unfamiliar with, but as the saying goes, "Life is fair because it's unfair to everyone." I learned early on to greet my teeth and to strive hard to value each meal.
Growing up, I was surrounded by amazing and intelligent people. As far as I can remember, my brother and sisters are consistent honor students. I followed their footsteps and worked hard on my studies. I have also been a constant honor student since my elementary days. Even though we were only getting by, given my family’s financial state at that time, there was this unspoken promise we had with each other that we must make our father proud. We entered state universities to get our degrees, and we know every day that my father is proud of what we have become now after having survived many challenges that visited our now sturdy home. My sisters are now degree holders, and I’m currently working on mine. My mother became the center of our family, with all of us being each other’s pillars.
PASSION/INTEREST/HOBBIES
I am a person who jumps from one hobby to another without actually mastering one. I am currently learning another language, which I'm trying to learn through an app. I have been investing a quarter of an hour daily, elevating my leagues, and learning simple words. Aside from language, I am also interested in crochet. I recently bought a crochet kit in order to address this new interest of mine. So far, I crochet a bucket hat, I'm trying to crochet a mini dress for my niece, and I'm an unfinished crochet of tulips. But I'm dedicated, so I hope to crochet more in the future, which I could sell and earn money out of. I am also interested in sketching, painting, and drawing. It's by far my oldest hobby. I have had this since I was young, and I'm honing it more to sell them (my outputs) someday. I also know a bit of guitar, kalimba, and lyre (the one used in school with the drums). I have a passion for dancing, and I love to sing. I am also interested in learning other musical instruments and sports.
Aside from that, I am also dedicated to fitness. I'm making it a hobby to exercise at least twice a week. I either jog in the morning or exercise at home, following Madfit videos I found online. I'm trying to lessen my sugar intake or stir away from unhealthy food. I am also an avid fan of books; I love reading, especially historical romance. I love dukes, duchesses, viscounts, and other regency romance stuff. I also love watching movies, anime, and drama. They are my escapade whenever I want to.
I am also a beach lover. I love spending time on the beach, taking photos of its captivating tides the shimmering water reflected by the sunken sun, sometimes yellow, sometimes orange, other times pink. I love exploring places I have never been to, going to places that were not tourist destinations but nevertheless a treasure to behold. So much beauty is hidden in our country, and I want to explore it, capture it, and share it with you.
MY REASON FOR JOINING HIVE (WHO INTRODUCED HIVE TO ME)
The person who introduced me to Hive is my seatmate and friend, @jeannmazing. Je-ann introduced me to Hive with enthusiasm and glee; she told me all about her newfound ways of expressing herself and relating herself to other communities. Her encouragement made me check it out and join the orientation last 12/17/2023 with sir @intoy.bugoy. Upon meeting them and learning more about Hive, I stumbled upon great stories of people whom I have never met but are able to touch my heart, their stories that I relate to, and opinions I agree with. I decided to join Hive because it allows me to express myself. It allows me to channel my creativity into writing. Having a platform where I could share this side of myself could also help me develop my confidence; it encourages me to open up to people who share the same interests and helps me grow.

That is it for this blog. I hope to see you in my succeeding hiventures. Thank you 😊
