All right! We are now in the 3rd week of HivePH's art challenge! I managed to make an entry for the last two weeks! For the 3rd week, I chose CHAIN as my inspiration/topic.
What came to my mind the first thing I see a chain is Miley Cyrus' viral music video. The music video title is Wrecking Ball. What I get from the music video is that she put herself like a wrecking ball. She breaks walls (feelings) but then that person opposed and so, she was the one left hurt in the relationship.

Sketching the concept
For this entry, I am thinking about Grumpea seated on to a wrecking ball. The inspo is from Miley Cyrus' infamous wrecking ball music video. "I came in like a wrecking ball" 🎶🤣 That music really got viral because of Miley's messy relationship too.
As the background, simple gray, concret wrecked walls with fragments shedding from the cracked walls. Additional character in the scene, carrot and onion running away from Grumpea's wrecking ball rage, lol.
Flat colors~
I chose the color gray for the wrecked, concrete in the background. I chose a lighter gray color for the chiped part of the walls. The wrecking ball and the chain is in color gray too, just a litle lighter from the background to make it pop. Obviously, I chose the natural colors for the veggies, carrot and onion. I added Grumpea's wrecking ball boots in reference to the music video.
For the chain, I used edge pen, select a dark and light gray. Make sure that the outer color is darker than the inner color. Make a chain by opting to the Shape tool. Choose rectangle. Copy paste the rectangle with a line. Make sure that the chain is aligned and has precise spacing.
More details~
I used a textured brush to make the wall appeared to be rough. That makes it look like a block of concrete. I put a shadow for the wrecking ball assuming the source of the light is one the left side.
I added face expressions for carrot and onion as if terrified by Grumpea's incoming wrecking ball rage, lol. I added details more on the veggies such as shine, lines, etc.

I now added some small details on the wrecking ball and made it more in a motion. I added fragments as if falling from the wrecking ball itself. I added some sparkles on the ball, just to make it a bit cartoonish. Strokes of dry, flat brush for textured detail.
For the shine on the boots, chain, and the wrecking ball, I chose a light yellow and then use the airbrush in Add mode. I colored the concrete with yellow with a lower opacity for a sunlight look.
I blurred carrot and onion out by 20% to make a dimension. Onion is doing the Naruto run, haha! If I were them I would be also terrified by Grumpea's wrecking ball rage, lol.
