After A Days Work- Hive PH Art Challenge Week 2 Entry

Hello again Hive! It's Saturday once again! And his is my entry for the Hive PH art Challenge Week 2!

Since last week, I have had been contemplating what to do for this challenge. When I saw machinery, the first thing that came to me are war-machines... particularly mech-warrior type robots. However, can't seem to finish even the initial sketch.

Last Thursday, somehow I got a spark of ispiration. Since this is a Pinoy art challenge, why not create something Filipino themed.

So I decided to create something to honor the unsung heroes of our country... the Farmers!

Philippines is first and foremost is an agricultural country, thus, for me, the farmers and of course the agriculturists are the unrecignized heroes of our country.

Unfortunately, because of the lack of effective goverment programs to support the farmers, and real estate clongomerates keeps on buying the farmlands and convert them to residential subdivisions, we are loosing these farms.

Work Title: After A Day's Work

The scene: After the a day's work of tilling the soil with his tractor, the farmer decides to take a rest under the shade of a tree and dream of his future (There is supposed to be a baloon showing the farmer dreaming of a concrete house, but I'm running out of time).

The Process.

I will try to ouline the process in making this artwork. I kinda did this in a rush. I started working on this just last night.

The Sketch

I first created a draft of the first and main component of this image, the tractor --- which represents Machinery

Then I added the farmer resting ... or relaxing comfortably under the shade of the tree. Which is the second component... Comfort. I could have added a third compnonent--- dream.

Painting the Background

I then painted the background first. The background is composed of at least three layers.

Coloring the Tractor and the farmer

Then I colored the tractor and the farmer. Then I added another layer so I can add some shade to the farmer.

I added another layer where I can paint the mud splashes on the tractor and the farmer's clothes.. some sort of proof of work. grin.

Then, I added some other details including the sun and the thin layer of clouds.

Lastly, I decided to hide the outline layer.

Device: Huawei 10.4 Matepad (2022)
Input device: Mpen Gen 2 Stylus
Estimated Duration 3 hours.
