Have you ever been on your alumni homecoming back to the school you've been to? I graduated from high school in 2009 but last year is the very first time I joined an alumni homecoming. Boy thsi post made me feel so old; It's been 14 years already.
Only a few of us were able to join; some had their excuses and I knew for sure they missed the fun.

I took this photo while waiting for our turn for a group picture in the photo booth. Sadly, my phone's front camera is dead that's why I was to able to take a selfie with them.
An older batch who went ahead from us on the booth
I always see it not an important thing, school is over and I am moving forward in life but all that changed when I joined the fun! I also made a post about my college friends celebrating our 10th anniversary from graduating college but I did not join them. Perhaps it triggered me to join on this event since it was just a few meters away from home and I will be going with my husband.
It was really fun and seeing all those familiar faces at the event gave me the feeling of nostalgia; all the good times I had way back in school flashed back, making the event more fun and memorable.
In 2023 marked teh 7th Grand Alumni Homecoming of Alae National High School and I had second thoughts about joining in. I even salute those old friends who were there the whole day. I guess they don't have work during these days that they lingered long.
There were only a few of them during daytime and program, I and my husband came after work( we graduated on the same year but he attended two batches since he had undergone the bridge program) and they were so happy when they saw us.
There were loud music and a live band which the alumnees enjoyed dancing and singing along, while others enjoyed chats, food and of course, alcohol.
I had a great chat with old friends; one of them asked if I was married already and I pointed to my husband. There were actually three pairs of us there that got married from the same batch, and one brought their eldest daughter who is already a teen. She was curious about us and the parents gladly explained that we were from the same batch and got married.
I was actually looking for my old friends, the ones I am very close with but they were not able to make it. We did not stay long anyway because we still had kids to tend to. It was a brief and short experience of fun but memories do last a lifetime and I had those pictures to prove it happened.
Hopefully, next year, I will be able to join again and connect with old friends that were once part of my life. well, sort of acquaintances already.
So that is what an alumni homecoming feels like and will forever be cherished.
