Dogs, Death, and Doing a Mema Post.
It has been more than a few weeks since I've posted anything on Hive. I feel that I'm relearning how to do it right now. I now find myself with some free time to rest and rejuvenate after a grueling past few weeks. For those of you who don't know, or are not Filipino, "mema" is a contraction of the Filipino language terms "May Masabi" [something to say].
A "mema" blurts out what's in his or her head without thinking about it, hence, problems sometimes arise if you are a "mema". However, since I would like to write something, anything, for content, I'm going to do a "mema" post just for the heck of it. And, for this post, I'm going to call it free-writing, which is what it essentially is in written form - an unedited, free flowing kinda blog. But, enough about this "mema". For this blog, I am just going to post an update and say that I am still alive and well. Hopefully, and I've said this quite often already, I will be able to upload a post regularly because that's what a blog is supposed to have - content - right?
I also use my blog as an outlet where I am able to release stress from work and whatnot so I need to do it for a healthy mental and physical well being. That said, we just buried my brother-in-law who had a bout with cancer. What more can I say? This illness is a drainer; it drains your physical, mental, emotional, and financial resources. Everyone in the family feels what the patient feels and it takes a toll on the whole family. Filipino families are almost always an extended family so the effect is felt on a wider spectrum in the family tree. It was a bummer to say the least.
But the icing on the cake wass when one of our dogs got sick and died the same day as my brother-in-law's burial day. It was strangely difficult day for us. I won't post any photos from the wake, out of respect for his wife and kids who I've not gotten permission from, I'd like to post a photo of our dog Iska, who was a cross breed between a Shih Tzu and and an Aspin. She was the sweetest dog.
And, that's it for now. Hope everyone is well and thanks for visiting my blog. As always, keep safe and all the best for you all.
Love and peace.
