Hello fellow hivers! How are you doing?🙂
I’ve missed sharing my thoughts and experiences through my blog, and today, I feel happy to share a significant chapter of my life, my journey as a Bachelor of Elementary Education pre-service teacher at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School.
Since then, it has been my dream to become a teacher someday. I always think of how I can get over this journey. Sometimes I can say I had to give up since a lot of work has to be done, but thinking about giving up on it is not the thing. I also think, what will happen if I give up? I am here... I will just continue doing and pursuing this one to have a better future someday.
We were given 360 hours to complete our internships in the 2nd semester. I was assigned to a Grade 4 class with a humble, inspiring cooperating teacher. The excitement I've felt is beyond words. Seeing the bright faces of the learners who wished for me to be their student teacher fills me with joy. Their happiness is truly uplifting. I'm so excited to get along with them until the end of the school year.

Every time I observe the teachers and learners, I tend to learn a lot, especially those using different strategies in teaching and managing the classroom and the learners. It's quite challenging, but what I learned is that if you, as a teacher, have an effective strategy employed, the learners get more engaged and learn more effectively.

I also enjoy when the school organizes activities where we interns can facilitate and guide the learners. I particularly love working on school forms, printing materials, and teaching young learners when my cooperating teacher allows me to do so. It makes me happy because she has trained me well in what the role of a teacher entails, both inside and outside the classroom.

I continue my journey until my Pre- and Final Demonstration is successfully done. I chose an English subject that is intended for Grade 4 and their learning. I was blessed to have a group of supportive, cooperative, and actively participating pupils who made the experience incredibly rewarding. Their enthusiasm helped ease my nerves, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I witnessed them engage with the material.

This experience made my journey realize that it is not just about teaching the learners, but also comes by building relationships with each other and fostering a love for learning. Guiding children as they learn new concepts and challenges. It makes me appreciate the art of teaching and the significant impact as an educator in shaping the lives of my learners.
My internship at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School has been a transformative journey filled with joy, challenges, and invaluable lessons. I am excited to continue growing as a teacher, humbled by the experiences I've gained, and eager to carry these lessons into my future classroom. As I continue to pursue my dreams, I hold on to the belief that with passion and dedication, I can make a difference in the lives of children. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I look forward to sharing more of my experiences with you!
To my cooperating teacher and to my AMES family;
