Hi Hivers! Wazzup! It’s me again Kri,I just want to share my 2 cents about misunderstanding, misconceptions, and misperceptions people have about me. Gotta be honest, it's kinda funny how some people see me and think I'm that richly rich and came from a well-off family. Like, seriously you saw me living in mansion and yacht that kinda rich? heey People wake up, you're just too quick to judge just for a glance and from an appearance. You see me and instantly think I'm livin' the billionaire life? Seriously? Not even that close! hahahaha Seriously though, why do people jump to that conclusion?😅

Here's how I feel. This is just my personal opinion, and I could be completely mistaken.
At some point, people react to behaviors. So, like, karma and stuff, right? You treat people well; they treat you well back. I showed an easy-going, charitable, and indifferent attitude. I enjoy treating and providing for my family, giving them the best in life, especially my parents, because they deserve all my love. They are my family, question needed for that period.

I have always extended my generosity to both close friends and family. We go out to eat together; I give them presents for birthdays and other occasions or just because I feel like it. The act of giving brings me personal satisfaction. The thing is, there came a time when I needed help myself, like when a family member was in the hospital, none of them were there for me. Even my relatives wouldn't lend me money, worried I wouldn't pay them back. But if they were in that situation, I'd never say no! I guess I'm just a softie (even though I might seem to mean with a resting b*tch face sometimes, haha!), and that's just who I am. Honestly, if the tables have turned, I take pride in my genuine and helpful nature and find fulfillment in acts of kindness regardless of reciprocity.

Here’s what I feel. It's just me and I could be wrong with my unsolicited opinion

Little do they know I also have my financial responsibilities like monthly bills and expenses: milk and diapers for my son, school allowance, and medication for my younger sister (yes, I deserve an award for being ulirang ate haha). I also have additional expenses like gasoline, Unplanned coffee hopping, and buying ice cream and cakes during my breakdown moments just to keep myself going. Plus, the impulsive checkout of parcels during my insomnia moments from online shopping like Lazada, Shopee, and Shein. When it comes to traveling, I need to explore new places with my family because I deserve that, too. Your expenses might differ from mine; everyone spends differently—you might spend more or less—and that makes us unique.

Maybe they think I'm rich because of how I carry and present myself in public. I know how to speak appropriately in different situations, especially in Genz language, the “conyo” one perhaps, and there's a big difference between clarity of speech and credibility, which I believe creates a strong impression. People often compliment my style, saying things like, "I like your style," which I take as a compliment. However, this sometimes leads to the misconception that I always wear expensive and branded clothes, when in fact, my secret is ukay-ukay thrift is my BFF. As for my gadgets, let's just say some magic payment plans helped me out. Aren’t you aware of the home credit and some home financing thingy? hahaha but I don't disclose that to them. Do I need to broadcast that it's all on credit? As if they care.

You, see? I have “utangs” too, maybe not as big as yours or even bigger, but I still have them. However, I know how to manage my finances. I started feeling awkward and uncomfortable because people don’t consider my obligations, and it’s unnecessary to tell them since they don’t care. I'm sharing this now, not because I need to, but because I want to. People don’t know how much I have or how much I earn. But because I don't show my desperation for money or my financial situation, I am perceived and labeled as rich. The truth is, you can't always judge someone's bank account by their smile!

Do you want to know what I did? Here are some tips that might help. Well, it's just me and my own perception.

I communicate and set healthy boundaries to people. Looking out for yourself isn't selfish! By speaking up about your needs and limits, you create a safe zone for yourself. It stops people from walking all over you; believe it or not, it can make your friendships stronger. Clear communication is key! It helps everyone understand each other and keeps the good vibes flowing. Plus, when you care for yourself mentally and emotionally, you're way more fun to be around!
Discuss finances selectively. Keep your money talks on the down-low. Be choosy about who you chat with about finances, and don't spill the beans on details that might make you seem like a millionaire.

Spend time with a genuine and diverse group of people. Ditch the drama and find your squad. Spend time with a genuine and diverse group of open-minded people who are interested in helping you grow. Surround yourself with individuals who discuss achieving a successful future, such as business ventures and strategies.

It is okay to help others but be cautious about whom you help. People have problems—we all have problems—and it is not your obligation to help them always.

I have stopped pleasing others and learned to say no. In this world where manipulative and self-serving individuals can be seen everywhere, it's important to learn to assess situations. This helps us make decisions that are best for ourselves and also reveals who our true friends are—those who understand why we say no in certain situations. It's important to avoid sarcastic and selfish individuals. Learning to say no allows us to value ourselves more and can lead to opportunities we might miss if we always say yes.

Be yourself, always! It is important to be authentic to yourself. Don't sweat how people perceive you. You can't control their thoughts, so why waste your energy explaining things? Just live your life and let them think what they want.
