Good day hivers, allow me to share my reflection after joining the meeting of my siblings, and stepping once again into my former school. This is all about how those memories of being a student here since Kindergarten until Grade 12 flash back in my mind. I hope everyone can take time reading this blog until the end as I write about my thoughts, feelings , emotions, journey and wishes.
At my siblings' first meeting, I was the one who was expected to attend because four of my siblings had meetings. It was very difficult to divide the time between the four of them, since they had almost the same time. Luckily, my aunt helped me and we divided the time equally.
I attended the meeting of my elementary siblings. I used to do this when I was still in high school when no one else could attend due to various reasons, so I got used to this task. It was so hard to find time, like I would have to think about whether a subject teacher would be there during the meeting. However, I go when I have free time and I'm also very lucky because I have friends who update me in case a teacher comes. And now that I already graduated, I don't have to think about anything else when I attend meetings, except for the fare 😅. Thank God I overcame the challenges I faced before, however even though I graduated from K-12, there are still many things that bother me.
There was a lot of discussion at the meeting including the election of homeroom officers, candidates etc. I went to grade 3 first because their schedule was 2-3, then I went straight to grade 6 because their meeting was 3-4. It's heartwarming to think that even though they weren't really my advisers, only my subject teachers still remembered me and asked if I would continue college this year. I also said that, maybe next year because of personal problems including the health of the family so that it doesn't get worse. I also believe that there is a right time for me, all I can do now is to trust God.
As a graduate student, I have different thoughts, feelings and questions. Will I become successful? What if I'm not good enough? What if no one believes in me? To be honest, I belonged to the top 3 ranks when I graduated in grade 12. Not to brag, I just wanted to express my thoughts on this. I didn't expect to be in that rank because I also knew to myself that I'm not that good enough. However, I also thought about the things I worked hard for before that's why I reached this. I bravely faced my last test because I was one of the speakers then and public speaking was my weakness. But thank God because he always guided me.
As a student, maintaining grades is not easy and just one mistake can make many people notice. I just thought, why do many people notice you when you stumble but when everything is okay, they just don't care. I experienced this not just once but I didn't let those negative thoughts weaken me and just continued for my own good. The pressure was always there when I was a student, I know many people can relate with this. If you're an honor student, you must be good in anything because some people expect bigger without knowing how we handle matters like this.
After the meeting, there was a flag retreat since it was Friday, I remembered being a student back then. The days that were still involved in flag ceremonies and went to our room together . Even though I am no longer a student here, I know I will come back here again because I still have many siblings who are studying here. All I want to wish now is for them to improve every single day, learn more, and express their talents with confidence, which I didn't do much before. Honestly, I know to myself that I also have talents, I just can't really show it properly because I don't have much confidence. But what's important to me now is to see my siblings improving, and show off their skills.
When we become successful soon, I will never forget where and how it all happened. What's really important, is to look back to where it all started and forever be grateful because it's part of the journey.
