School Intramurals are a vibrant and integral part of academic experience, fostering a sense of community and healthy competition. This provides students the opportunity to showcase their talents by participating in a variety of sports given or different recreational activities. This not only promotes physical fitness but also nurtures teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. From the activities provided, it will create a dynamic environment that encourages social interaction and a sense of belonging among the student body.
Hey there hivers! Good day! For today's blog, I will share about the things that happen during our School's Intramurals.
Juan Pamplona National High School celebrated the School's Sports Fest 2023 last November 11 and 12. Students and the faculty were very excited for this event because after two years, finally it will happen again. It was a busy week for everyone not to mention the preparation happened beforehand.
TEAM PARADE
It was one sunny morning when we started the parade. Students are wearing their respective colors to represent their team. The team are as follows:
Unit I: Yellow Team
Unit II: Blue Team
Unit III: Green Team
Unit IV: Red Team
Despite the scorching heat of the sun, the students immensely participated in the parade.
After the parade, the students went straight to the astrodome for the Opening Program. It was started with a prayer and a welcome address by one of the Mapeh teachers. With a resounding applause, everyone greeted our School Principal as she delivered an inspiring message to all of us.
After her message was the Ceremonial lighting of the Intramural Torch.
The highlights of the program were the Production of Mr and Ms. Intramurals 2023 and the Bench Cheer contest.

And the winner for Bench Cheer contest is UNIT III.
By the way, I am part of the Unit III and was very proud of our team for winning this contest. They really practiced and showed unity during their performance.
After the program, students went to the respective sports they participated in. The sports I've mentioned were basketball, volleyball, badminton , table tennis, and lawn tennis. Athletics and Singing contests ( solo and duet) were also included.

I was part of the basketball committee so I'm more focused on this sport and have been able to watch this intently. For the first day, Unit III competes with Unit IV while Unit I competes with Unit II respectively. Everyone cheered for the players in their team and shouted their yell every time they shot the ball. Students are really having fun and enjoyed every moment of this activity.
The winners for the first day are Units I and III, and will have their championship for tomorrow at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Units II and IV will battle for third and will play at 9:30 in the morning.
Basketball is one of the sports I'm very fond of aside from volleyball. I couldn't help but to cheer on my team during the game since I have my bias. And after 4th quarter, I shouted at the top of my lungs because my team won. Unit III is the champion in basketball.
The event successfully promoted teamwork, school spirit, and a sense of pride among participants, creating lasting memories and strengthening the overall school culture. And of course, this wouldn't be successful without the teachers' effort and collaboration.
