Hello, wonderful people on Hive! I am here again trying to share the things that keep me preoccupied during my Christmas vacation.
Christmas reminds us of the infinite goodness of Jesus Christ towards the world, it is celebrated by all walks of life regardless of faith and religion. As a catholic of faith, I believe that His teachings and doings are worthy of emulation.
Christmas indeed is a perfect time to show to everybody the importance and the value of sharing and giving especially to the less fortunate individuals. It is not the material things that count most but the smile of those people that lightens up every time they receive gifts, it is priceless.
Me and some of my colleagues agreed to initiate an Outreach Program for the children living and studying in a far-flung barangay of Sambag. One of the remote places here in our place. We contributed a small amount intended for the feeding, prizes for the games, and a small number of gifts and tokens for the kids.
This Outreach Program is intended for 100 recipients from the said barangay where the nearest school is also situated. Each of us has different assignments to do, some were assigned to prepare for the games, cooked the meals, and put the firewood together.

According to David Khalil“Be willing to share your blessings. The only riches that last are the ones that are given away” Every possession that we owned here on earth will not last forever, Everything will just vanish but the happiness in the children’s faces is worth remembering and could not be forgotten.
Making people smile and laugh especially during these trying times, is the most precious treasure that we can give to ourselves as a gift. It is the most satisfying feeling knowing that we are one of the reasons for their laughter and happiness.
The eagerness on the faces of the kids was so evident before the game started. The first game was “longest line” the first group to produce the longest line in the given time frame will be declared the winner. During the game, kids tried their best and even encouraged their teammates to take off their shirts and slippers just to beat their opponents. The deafening laughter and giggling reactions from the parents echoed throughout the whole gym. It was indeed an enjoyable moment for all of us.
What makes it livelier? the game was facilitated by my born-to-be-comedian colleagues. They entertained their little audience with a song rendition and a dance number entitled “Budots" (/buˈdɔːts/; boo-DOTS) is a grassroots electronic dance music (EDM) genre that originated in Davao City, Philippines, and is considered as street style hiphop. It eventually spread in Bisaya-speaking regions.

After the games, the kids were so exhausted and excited as they bring their spoons and fork trying to have their share of the porridge we have distributed. I can see the smile on the children’s faces as we hand over to them their share of juice and porridge.
We ended up with a fulfilling heart and hopeful that one of these days, our group will grow and recruit other members who are willing to join and venture with us.
