This week has been so busy because of the incoming activities in our school. Lots of preparation are needed because we are about to celebrate High School Day/Family Day. Since we're talking about a huge event, there's always a division of labor. My colleagues and I are assigned to make bouquets, sashes, and corsages for our High School/ Family Day. I know you will agree that choosing the kinds of materials is hard because you need to imagine your output first before buying the latter.
Honestly, @simplealchyns and I didn't search any of the designs. We just talked about it when we arrived at the store. Even if we have plans, they will change. We depend on the availability of materials. They're only limited compared to Cebu City, with a lot to choose from.
The First Store
While waiting for my colleague to arrive in Bogo City, I purchased things that our canteen manager told me to buy. We need a pan, ladle, and soldering. So, I visited the store I usually purchase our kitchen utensils.
🍳Pan
There is a lot to choose from, but this one is better for me because it's thicker than the others. I am sure it's durable.
🍲Calderine
I asked the sales if they have an old aluminum type of soldering, but sad to say, all have a different kind. Still, it's aluminum.
Ladle
I searched the same as we have at home, but had not found it. The same design but not the same materials, and it's lightweight. Maybe you're wondering why I am searching for a bit heavy. As I have experienced, the more massive the material, the longer to use.
After I completed them, I went to the cashier to pay the due and left the place because mam Cha was already at Gaisano.
Bring It On
When we arrived at the venue, we immediately went to the stall where fancy flowers were.
As you can see, there are flowers in the pot. They're so attractive, just like the first time you saw your crush. 😂
Anyway, we did not buy that kind. We roamed around until we reached this area.
Leaves! We need leaves for the bouquet. Varied designs were hanging on the ceiling until we found what we wanted.
Oops! We found these elegant vases sold at a bit pricey.
Then these things. I thought they were dried flowers. Honestly, I did not know what they are. Maybe you can. 😁
The next spot was the flowers displayed in the corner. We took a long time to brainstorm what flowers we would like to choose. The purple one? Sunflower? White Rose? Pink orchid? After how many minutes, at last only the purple flowers were not chosen.
Now we have flowers and leaves, how about the vase? Well, here we are again, taking a little while for the color to choose as we have to consider the colors of the flowers we have. Thankfully, we had a consensus to choose pink. Yay!
Then we went to a gift wrap section to buy some of the materials needed for the bouquet, especially sinamay and the necklace for the corsage.
Finally, we head to the cashier.
Going to Another Store
We chose to buy photo paper and glue sticks in this store because they sell at a lower price than in the mall.
After that, we went to another store again to buy the cloth for the sash and some accessories for the design.
The last stop was at an educational store (Carljoy), where I bought the sticker paper. We haven't found it in the stores we went to. Thankfully, we found it here.
I am happy that we completed all the things.
A Short Story and Life Lessons
When I was waiting for my turn in an educational store, one old man fell his 100$ bill. I suddenly picked it up and returned it to him. He was shocked because he didn't expect to return it to him. He repeatedly said, "thank you." For me, it's normal to return things we don't own. Before he bid goodbye, he expressed his gratitude again, and I responded, "you're welcome. ☺️
I continued to choose the sticker papers when suddenly, the man who owned the dollar returned and gave me some money as gratitude for returning his money. I refused. I told him it was okay while thinking about the preaching in the church about being honest and truthful. ☺️
I may have had a tough day, but I considered it one of the most fulfilling days.
In my perspective, life is not about possessing luxurious things, positions, and power. It's all about humanity, being honest and truthful. I hope we should not forget our purpose and why we live this kind of life.
Indeed, it was a challenging but fulfilling day.
