Last year, our school hosted an incredible event that was a culmination of innovation, creativity, and scientific research. The event was called "Celebrating Next-Generation Innovations at CTU Main-College of Technology's Innovation Exhibition and Research Congress." It was a platform that brought together researchers from different departments to showcase their remarkable innovations.

The event was an opportunity for each department to present their talent, creativity, and innovative ideas. Our department, the Garments Technology, was among the departments that showcased their talent.

It's interesting to observe how people's attitudes towards fashion can vary so greatly. While some individuals exude extreme confidence in their appearance and style, others may feel embarrassed or self-conscious. Often, I find myself admiring those who possess such confidence, wishing that I too could feel that comfortable in my own skin. Last year, I had the opportunity to attend a fashion show that showcased a wide range of styles and categories. From couture to cowgirl, and even costumes inspired by mobile legends, the show was a true testament to the creativity and diversity within the fashion industry. Each category featured unique and innovative designs that left the audience in awe. The fashion show was a fantastic display of the talent and hard work of designers, models, and fashion enthusiasts alike.

For the exhibition, we prepared for one day before the event, and we were thrilled to participate in such a prestigious gathering. We exhibited a wide range of products, including gowns, couture, pillowcases, dresses, and many more. Our goal was to showcase our skills, creativity, and knowledge in the garment industry.

During my time as a student, I had the opportunity to attend a variety of events and competitions. One of the most exciting of these was a fashion show put on by the 2nd-year Garments students. They truly showcased their talent in ramp modeling, with each student bringing their unique style and creativity to the runway. Their creations were equally impressive, ranging from stunning gowns to high-end couture pieces.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I was unable to participate in the fashion show as a 3rd-year student. Instead, we had to resort to an online event, which was a bit of a letdown. We were unable to showcase our creations like blazers and pants, which was a disappointing experience. Despite this setback, I was grateful to have witnessed such an event, even if only as a member of the audience. It was an inspiring showcase of talent and creativity that left a lasting impression on me.

As a student of Garments Technology, I feel immense pride when I see my peers donning the exquisite gowns they've created. It's truly inspiring to witness their creativity and hard work culminating in such beautiful pieces, especially considering that they're only in their second year of the program. What's even more impressive is that some of them are incredibly shy, just like me, yet they muster up the courage to present their designs to the judges and the audience. It takes a lot of bravery to showcase one's creations, but they all did it with aplomb. I look forward to seeing more of their incredible work in the future.

I have come to realize the immense effort and skill that goes into creating each and every design. The process of drafting patterns, sewing fabrics together, and visualizing the final gown can be a daunting task that requires a great deal of patience and precision. In fact, pattern making is often considered the most time-consuming and challenging part of the process as it requires accuracy and attention to detail.
Adding embellishments to the garment to enhance its beauty is another aspect of the process that requires a great deal of creativity and skill. It takes a lot of time, effort and expertise to choose the right embellishments and apply them in the right way to create the desired effect.

As Garments students, we take pride in our work and the level of dedication that we put into it. It can be frustrating and disheartening when people belittle our course and do not appreciate the hard work that goes into making each design a reality. Even something as simple as sketching out a design in advance can be a challenging task, let alone transferring it to the fabric and bringing it to life.

It is not an easy task, but one that is truly rewarding and fulfilling for those who have a passion for it. The event was a great success, and we were proud to be part of it. It was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our talent, interact with our peers from other departments, and learn from their innovations. We hope to participate in more such events in the future to showcase our skills and knowledge in the garment industry.
