Have you experienced reverse parking or a ninety-degree turn left or right through a very narrow space in a jam-packed parking area? How can we avoid our vehicles bumping into other vehicles or pedestrians in different directions without a rear camera?
My dear fellow Hivers, in this blog, I'll share with you what I have just observed and I hope we can learn a lesson from this one. Although I'm in a state of sadness and sorrow due to the demise of my mother-in-law last Wednesday, November 22, 2023, I'll try to relieve myself from stress. She was confined in the hospital and confined to the ICU until the day she passed away. As I've said, to relieve me from stress this topic is not about her but about others. Please come with me.
While Waiting at the Parking Area
You can see here the apprehensions of the driver especially if he is alone and nobody can assist him. So, here, we see the need for a parking aide or somebody to guide us to reach the proper parking space without causing any damage to our own or others' vehicles.
That's why, when I'm in the aforementioned situation, I feel comfortable to pass even the narrowest space passing by the luxury cars. Although mine is not luxurious like theirs, it can perform the desired outcome for me and others.
That's why, every time I'm into such situations, I usually give a tip that is more than the usual. It's due to two reasons: the help that I got, and the help that I give in return.
One afternoon, while my wife, her sister, and her nieces bought the things that we needed for the vigil during the wake of my mother-in-law such as supplies, biscuits, coffee, and other drinks, I noticed something that touched my heart.
An Awkward Moment
It's about this woman who looks thin and looked stressed. This time, it seemed
I asked to photograph her and to blog about her for what I have just observed. But before this photo, I had noticed something.
This woman ran as fast as she could to catch up with the reverse-moving car that wanted to move out of the Bogo Public Market parking area. She was able to catch it up and she immediately gave a hand signal to proceed in the reverse direction because it was safe without any car approaching the area. But, as I noticed, the driver didn't open the windshield. It means the driver didn't give the usual pay amounting to Five pesos.
As the car sped up and vanished, she scratched her hair. Sad! Then, another car was going out. She rushed again near it and guided the driver in the direction as you can see here. But, the same result as the first one, the driver didn't mind opening the door windshield.
Feeling of Frustrations
This time she leaned on the rear of a pickup vehicle. Huh! He seems tired and disappointed. I was supposed to ask her some questions, but my wife's niece brought me some of their purchased items that quite distracted my attention. But still, I noticed that she ran fast in the same direction as the previous but suddenly detoured to the left. I can no longer see her because she was covered by another car. However, I didn't see any car moving out. So I was inquisitive with mixed emotions.
When she returned, I decided to give a little amount. Instead of the usual 5-peso coin, I decided to give her two 5-peso coins or a total of ten pesos. So, I called her and asked her: "Hoy Dai, asa diay ang mga lalake nga tig-assist sa parking? Ngano ikaw na man diha?" Hey Lady, where are the male parking assistants? Why are you the one there?
Then she replied: Nanguli na man sila. Nipuli ra ko kay naa Koy duha ka anak nga gagmay pakan-unon. Ang akong bana tua sa presuhan kay... Unya wa Koy pangpalit bugas ug uban panginahanglan namo. They all went home. I take charge here because I have two kids to feed. My husband is in prison because...and I have nothing to buy for our needs
Her husband is in jail due to a shameful offense which I intentionally omitted to mention for a valid reason. So I gave her these two coins, instead of one.
She was happy to receive it. But, I felt that I needed to give more than that. I was impressed by her efforts and diligence-though it seemed awkward- to run and guide the cars to possibly make some amount rather than to beg for an amount as what other lazy beggars usually do.
When my wife arrived, I told her the sad short story and asked her if she still had an amount left after buying all the planned supplies. She opened her wallet and found the last one fifty-peso bill. Since she also felt pity for the woman, she willingly gave the bill to her with the hope that it could help in one way or another.
Then, I asked this woman if it was okay for her to take a picture of her a little bit nearer and told her that I'd use it for content in my blog. She agreed. I told her that a part of the possible earnings for this content would be shared with her. And it can also be another content, if ever. She thanked me and my wife.
Back to the Business
Then, after the short conversation, she was back on her track hoping to earn more.
And, while I turned my eyes to the place she headed a while ago when she ran fast, I saw the proof of what she said that she has two poor little kids.
I immediately took a picture of them because we were heading back home considering it was already getting darker.
Upon reaching back to the house of my in-laws on the need for the vigil that night, I cropped up a little bigger photograph of the heart-breaking situation of the two poor little kids. You can see them here.
We can see how hard it is for the mother to run and run to make some income to buy milk or food for her little children. Aside from their food needs, they also need to be secured by their mother to avoid getting closer to the vehicles to avoid accidents. They should stay in the concrete gutter to be safe. But how this woman maintained the discipline and safety of these children is not easy. It could be very stressful. You can see it in her stressful face.
Realization
Whatever the problem is, there's always a way or a means of solving it. The important thing is to adapt yourself to it and live with it. But sometimes our basic needs outweigh the risk if there's no other option. Here, I can say that the mother is doing two major things at the same time: earning some amount and taking care of her children at the same time just within her reach.
I think this is enough for this blog. Thank you for reading this part here. I hope to see you again in my next blog. Thank you.
