Hello Hivers! I am Pearl T. Bazarte, but you can call me Pearlyshell. I’m a college student taking up a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at Cebu Technological University – Danao Campus. I am 19 years old and currently living in Liloan, Cebu. I love exploring the world and creating meaningful memories. I also enjoy studying hard to prepare for my future. I am living a loving, blessed, and peaceful life.
I come from a family of five with two brothers, and I’m the only girl. I’m the middle child. We are a small yet close family. My dad is a factory worker and my mom is a housewife. My eldest brother already has his own little family. My parents do their best to support us financially and provide everything we need. They give a love that no one else can. Even though they don’t have a big income, they still manage to provide for us. They are my first teachers in life—and the best ones.
I am a very lovable and extroverted person—someone who always appreciates even the small things. I’m also a competitive person because I believe I can do anything I set my mind to. As a college student, I know it’s hard to make friends in a new classroom, especially as a first-year student. That’s when I learned to be independent and realized that I can do things on my own.
I love trying new things, and I always want to join trainings and seminars. Recently, I joined a BLS (Basic Life Support) training, even though it was a challenge for me because I have scoliosis. But I still wanted to try, and it was so much fun! I learned how to fold bandages, carry a person properly, perform CPR, and more. I have no regrets about joining. At first, I was unsure because of my condition, but I trusted myself—and I did it well. That’s the part of me I truly love—the part that always wants to learn and experience new things.
I also competed in the ASD (Airline Safety Demonstration) for our school. It was new to me as a freshman, and I was nervous when I was asked to join. But I reminded myself that I could do it, and I overcame my fears. Joining competitions isn’t easy, but I do it for the experience and the lessons I gain. I will always choose learning.
I love painting. There was one time when our teacher told us to do on-the-spot painting in just one hour using only five colors. That challenge really pushed me, but because I trusted myself, I succeeded. During the awarding, I was surprised and proud to receive a certificate as the Most Artistic. That moment reminded me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
As a first-year tourism student, I’m still learning how to manage everything. I genuinely love guiding people, which is why I dream of becoming a tour guide. One of the places I want to explore soon is Cebu Safari—it fascinates me the most.
Right now, I’m focused on studying harder to achieve my dreams. I always pray that, someday, all my plans will come true. I want to explore the world because there are so many beautiful places waiting to be discovered. I haven’t seen them all yet, and that excites me.
I want to become a professional—not just for myself, but for my family. I always dream of a beautiful future. I’m truly in love with history. I enjoy reading historical documents and learning about the past. I believe understanding history helps us make sense of the present and the world around us. Every past event teaches us a lesson.
Another thing I love is coffee. It’s a part of my daily life—without it, I feel easily tired. Even at school, coffee keeps me energized. Studying is hard, but when you focus on your dreams, all the tiredness becomes worth it.
Every challenge in life is a test of how well you can handle situations. I’ve made mistakes and learned from them, promising myself not to repeat them. I believe I can contribute by sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.
I’m very excited to be part of this platform because it helps people connect and share their daily adventures. Since I’m studying tourism, I’ve started writing about different places, cultures, and histories. I want to help people understand the beauty of the world. I hope to spread positivity through my writing, especially since I’m also a staff writer at our school. I love writing motivational quotes and more.
I discovered Hive through my cousin @fretitit who introduced me to the app. He said it’s a great way to meet new people, make friends, and connect with others. I became very interested because I know this app can boost my confidence and expand my knowledge. I’ve always loved reading and writing, which is why this platform fits me so well.
Aside from my cousin, I also learned a lot during the orientation conducted by Ms @jeanmazing who truly inspired me.
