On December 4, 2024, when I arrived at the classroom, my classmate immediately told me to go up to the 4th floor and come down again afterward. I asked my classmate why, and our teacher explained that we needed to go down early to find a proper seat and avoid getting too hot. So, we went down right away, carrying our own chairs, and looked for a spot at the covered court. When we got there, we were asked to sign the attendance and were given a form that we needed to fill out.
The seminar immediately started, and it was just about discussing our dream jobs, how to apply for a job, what types of jobs we can have, which companies are hiring, and how to handle all of it. It’s hard to find a job or decide what kind of job we want when we grow up. As the seminar was nearing its end, they gave us bread and Coke to motivate us to listen more. They included us, the Grade 12 students, because we are graduating, and it might help us in making decisions for our future.
Fast forward, after the career guidance, we quickly had lunch and got ready because our cheerdance presentation was set to start exactly at 1:00 PM, and it was going to take place in our classroom. We were the last group to be called to perform, and after our performance, our teacher started announcing the scores, where our group scored 97/100 points. We were all extremely happy because it was the result of our hard work and effort during practice. Our teacher also made us clean up the classroom so we could go home early since it was only 3 PM.
However, none of us could leave because we all had to practice for our pantomime, which we thought we were submitting today. But our teacher extended the deadline. So, we practiced from 3 PM until 5 PM. Anyway, pantomime is a type of performance where actors tell a story using only gestures, facial expressions, and body movements, without speaking any words. It’s like acting silently. That’s what my groupmates and I did, and I was also one of the ones who choreographed and created the formations to make it come together.
That day was truly a day filled with learning, teamwork, and a lot of energy. From the valuable career guidance seminar to our successful cheer dance performance and the creative pantomime practice, it was a day that pushed us to grow in different ways. Despite the tiring hours, it was all worth it because each activity helped us prepare for our future, whether it's in academics, extracurriculars, or life after graduation. I’m grateful for the experiences, the hard work, and the fun moments shared with my classmates. It's definitely a day I won’t forget, and I’m excited for what lies ahead as we continue to pursue our dreams.
