Hello everyone it's Rhedren20. How are you today? Hope your doing great. As what you have read in my previous blog, I have renewed my license recently because it is highly needed in my work especially we are traveling from time to time.
In this 3rd blog of mine I would like to share with you what's my work, the nature of my work and what's the life of a Forklift Service Technician, but before that I would like to give you some background about it.
What is a FORKLIFT?
A forklift is also called a lift truck, jitney, forklift truck, and fork truck. A forklift is a primarily industrial vehicle that uses a two-pronged forked front attachment to lift materials. Often, that material is on a wooden platform or pallet.
The forks are often used to move products and materials that are on a pallet or other platform. A forklift has the capability to lift material up and down. Unlike other machines that can be fitted with a forked attachment – such as a telehandler – the forklift is beneficial for projects that require a lot of material-moving.

What is the use of a Forklift?
The main purpose of a Forklift is to lift and carry heavy loads of materials in a short distance. It is used to lift and lower products or materials that's been place in rackings especially at warehouses. Forklift can be mostly seen in manufacturing and warehouses. There are many various kinds of Forklifts and each one of them have their own uses and advantages.

What is a Service Technician?
Service technicians or Field Technicians are the ones who are deployed in the fields and responsible or in-charge of the maintenance and the repairs of the units.
Service technicians may work in a variety of different industries, such as the automotive industry, IT, and manufacturing.
I am a TOYOTA Service Technician. I got deployed in the Area Of Pasig City right now. I've been deployed before in the Area of Bulacan for almost 2 years before I came here. Our covered areas here are the places that are near in Pasig City, like Rizal, Mandaluyong, Taguig, and even some parts of Quezon City. We separated our Area into three areas.
- Area 1 holds the areas of Pasig City and some parts of Taytay Rizal.
- Area 2 holds the areas of Quezon City and the Province of Rizal.
- Area 3 is the one holding the Taguig City, Mandaluyong and some parts of Pasig City.
I was assigned in the last area wherein we traveled everyday just to maintain our units conditions in every customers that we have.
Each area has one service car that used for every day travel.

What's our Job to the Unit?
Service technicians are required to ensure that the machine they’re responsible for servicing or repairing is kept in good working order and is correctly diagnosed if any problems arise.
As a Service Technician we are the one's that maintains the performance and the condition of the unit. We are doing monthly check ups/ inspections, Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS), to the customers that reaches us. We also repairs the unit if it's not operational already. For short, we are called the doctors of the unit. We travel from time to time if there's a call from our customers who needed our help.
We are not allowed to touch or repair any other machines like Mitsubishi, Hyundai and others. We only repair TOYOTA machines.

What can I say about my Work?
For almost 5 years of staying in this company I must say it's not an easy peasy job. Well I guess there's no job that is easy to work on. "Time management" is a must. Before you go off to work, you must prepare all the necessary things needed and of course yourself. You also need to know how to entertain or interact with the customers with a lot of patience because there are some customers that are demanding. All in all, I am satisfied with the work I have right now because through it, I am able to provide for my needs, especially when comes to financial matters. And this serves as my training ground for I planned to work abroad someday.
On the other hand this Company is also a place for the "On the Job Traing" students from the different schools. And I was once an OJT student here before. Later than that, when I graduated the company hired me as an official employee in their company. I am currently working for almost 5 years for them. As of now, I am guiding the OJT students that are currently assigned in here. I teach them the proper and safe ways for this kind of field.
