It is not just the student who's very happy on the implementation of the Face to Face classes today because even those small time Business owners who was forced to close their business when the Pandemic began is very happy. With the restriction before a lot of gimmick for other business owners sprout and some survived but a lot didn't. And my Mama is belong to those business owner who didn't survived. She has a small eatery and even before the Pandemic began her business is really not in good state already. But she's trying her hardest just to make ends met.
As long as she can get back her capital then she's okay with it. As long as she can still eat 3 times a day she's very much okay with it. She's managing it alone that is why she don't need a helper and all. Her capital is also not that much because with 1000 PHP or $20 she can already open her business. Sometimes there's a return but sometimes, there's none. There are also times that she got short and she will borrow to her friend in the market for some Ingredients and once she sell all the Viand she's selling she can pay it immediately.
But if not that's another problem off course. It's really hard to be honest, and I witness it all. Then Pandemic happened and it become worst. But she's happy now because she can finally open her small eatery again. And when she heard the upcoming face to face classes for the first time she got excited, me too off course. And I've been praying to God since then that her first day will be also good for her, that she can sell all the viand she's selling on her first. I am praying hard and I really hope this will be successful this time.
DAY 1
It's the D-DAY had finally come. It is just a test so she allocated 500PHP or $10 capital for starter. It's just a test if doing business is good right now. But before that she ready first the things that needed. She clean the whole place where she put her small eatery. It is just very little but can fit 3 to 4 people. She started this business when I was just in High School. She really had a lot of regulars before because her small eatery was located to our old house and it is just beside the Terminal of Public Transportation here in our Place, just along the highway.
But as the time goes by, a lot more of Restaurant also pop-up here. Off course she keep up with then, she also compete with them. But yeah, covida happened and now she's back to zero again. Anyways that's just her History. She can just start over again. She's up for it. And she's already starting. Monday, August 22, 2022 - that's where she started. She cook 4 kind of dish, Pancit, 2 kind of Viand and Veggies, there's a boiled egg too as those are loved by her regulars. She ready those condiments that she will need. I mean Everything.
There are costumer who really loves chilis. Even her regulars that is why she made she has this. It was freshly picked from her plants in the backyard. Everything is ready, she even played some music for the vibe using her small speaker.
And this is her second costumer yesterday. It's still early. The weather is not that good coz it's very gloomy so I thought that is also the reason why there are no people coming after him. The customer is coming one by one but it's till few. But I am still glad coz we still received some customer.
This fish is called "Tilapia" here in our place. Mama bought this for 200 PHP per kilo or almost $4. She cook it with Freshly Squeezed Coconut Milk with Spices, she also used Turmeric Powder so it is one of the Main Ingredients.
This is a Pilipino Dish (one of my Favorite) with different kind of Veggies. We called it "Pakbet". It has Squash, eggplant, bitter gourd, string beans and okra or lady's fingers. It's best when paired with Dried Fish.
It is just a Fried Tilapia. Mama cook Tilapia in two ways and Frying is the other way. This 2 fried Tilapia was gone in just an hour. People here really is a fan of Fried.
And this is the other one. Pancit Guisado, Mama's pancit is the best for me. It has a lot of veggies too and people here love to pair their Pancit with Boiled Egg. That is why we also have Boiled Egg.
There it is. She has this small Glass Stante - not sure what it's called. But she have this for years now. Just to avoid those fly from getting in to the food. Also good for a small eatery like hers.
To be honest, her cooked viand was not sold yesterday. There's only a few people so even if we really want for them to be sold out, it didn't happen. But we still considered it a success for her first day. I didn't ask her if how much does she earned yesterday but she was able to buy Chicken Yesterday to add to the menu today so it's still good.
DAY 2
The leftover dish yesterday was put in a cooler full of Ice. That's another expense but it's okay as long as the leftover dishes will still be okay for tomorrow. And that's what she's doing whenever there's a leftover because we don't want to waste foods. She will cook it again the next day and will sell again. It's for practicality too. Anyways, this is just Day 2 and this time it's much better than yesterday.
There's a lot of leftover Fish with Coconut Milk yesterday so Mama decided to jus fry some of it. She cooked more boiled egg and added it too to the menu. Usually boiled egg was always the first to sold out that is why she always make sure that she have that.
She also cool veggies which is Mung Bean Soup with lot's of other kind of veggies. It also contain a pork fat so it's more savory and delicious. And another added to the Menu is Adobong Chicken. I'm not sure if your familiar with this but it is a must try Filipino Dish. And another is that Pancit with two kind of Noodles.
And for this DAY 2, it is really much better than yesterday as she gained new customer. Some are students. I am just thinking that if ever they like my Mama's dish there's a chance that when those kids gains new friends on their school they will bring more customer with us. Well, it is really just a wishful thinking hehe.
This is just the Day 2. More days to come and We are optimistic that everything will be okay. That everything will go back to it's right places and Mama will be happy again with her fresh start after this long hiatus. I just hope that no more problem will be encountered in the coming days.
