Sometimes you have to take unmeasurable actions to put effort for the desirable outcomes you want, and in case of my first hike experience, I couldn't want it more than this! It was just a normal day that I planned to propose on my girlfriend(my wife now) but I decided to add extra challenge for myself which turned out a great help for my plan. So we went for a hike in Osmeña Peak located in Dalaguete, Cebu.
This is my very first time to climb up a mountain peak. It was both exhuasting and fulfilling at the same time. Exhausting in a very way that I almost told my soon to be wife that I might call for a help and when I said that to my mind, I literally mean a rescue, LOL! It was probably a 10-min hike from the steep side of the mountain to the peak and I could feel my knees shaking and were about to fall. Every step and pause I take feels like I couldn't make it.
Now don't get me wrong with this experience. I don't mean this to be a funny one even if it sounds hilarious on my wife's perspective. The time I told her about these, she really cracked up. I never thought how hard it is to have this fear of heights. Me and my wife both love landscapes and appreciate them a lot but we differ really in the adventurous side of life. That's when I knew that I just hit the right spot where her happy hormones can be utilized.
And I went to what was planned from the beginning, I took her to different tourist spots in the province. Lastly we settled in a sunflower farm where I finally popped up the life-changing question to her, and she said yes in front of all sunflowers in the place. It was a short trip but the experiences were long enough for to us look them back and remember those moments. The challenge I took on that trip gave me extra confidence in life-decision making. And while I was able to do those things for my wife, I am still trying to conquer my fear of heights. I guess it is harder to climb up a mountain? 🤷
