Do you know why our barangay is called Mainit? Ironically, it is because we have a hot spring! Despite its name people should not be fooled. Mainit Naga Cebu creates an atmosphere that duplicates the experience of visiting Baguio. The weather is cool and crisp a welcome change from the usual tropical heat. Our place has a tiny unique aspect which brings both captivating mystery and growing affection to me.Toward my story stands the setting of my 17 year old experience beginning its fresh chapter.
I'm Marlon, the only child of a tricycle driver and a dedicated housewife. Their love together with their daily efforts have formed the foundation of who I am today. Through their efforts my father dedicated endless work to support our household while my mother offered constant care which developed my deep appreciation and ability to overcome challenges. The approaching graduation ceremony from senior high school creates both excitement and anticipation within me.

My dream is to be a civil engineer someday, but unfortunately, my parents can't afford the tuition or even my allowance, since the school was in the city 😔 .So now I pursuing a Bachelor in Industrial Education at Cebu Technological University-Naga campus. The thought of delving into the world of industrial arts, learning new skills and eventually sharing that knowledge with others fills me with passion. Of course, getting there requires passing the entrance exam and hopefully securing a scholarship. I'm putting all my efforts into preparing, studying hard and hoping for a bit of luck to be on my side.
Growing up as an only child,I longed for a sibling.It was a quiet wish I carried in my heart.You see,I am a bit of a miracle baby myself,my mother was 45 when she had me a testament to the unexpected joys life can bring. She is always been incredibly nurturing not just to me but to everyone around her.I remember her taking care of her nephew showering him with love and attention.Her kindness and generosity have always been an inspiration to me.

And then, a wonderful surprise! My dream of having a sibling came true not in the way I expected,but in a way that is even more special. We now have a baby sister Chloe Micole! She is not biologically mine but we treat her as our own. My mother babysits her, and Chloe has become the centre of our universe. I love her dearly and she loves me back. She is just the most adorable and cutest little girl.
She can't quite pronounce"Marlon" yet, so I am "Moon" to her a nickname that warms my heart every time I hear it. Chloe's presence has brought so much joy and laughter into our home. She is a reminder that family is not always define d by blood but by love and connection.

Beyond family ,and studies,I have my own passions and interests.Like ma ny teenagers I enjoy playing Mobile Legends wit h friends and cousins.It is a fun way to unwind and connect with th em.I also have a slightly unusual fascination with medical case movies.

I find them incredibly intriguing the way they unravel complex medical mysteries and show case the resilience of the human body.Sports,are also a big part of my life.I love playing basketball, the adrenaline rush and the camaraderie of the team.
And perhaps unsurprisingly given my father's profession I am interested in motorcycles.I think I inherited that interest from him.There is something about the mechanics the power, and the freedom of the open road that captivates me.
Now,you might be wondering what does all this have to do with Hive?Well,my cousin Coleen (@helianthus-chloe) introduced me to this platform.She is been a part of the Hive community for a while now and she is always talking about how wonderful it is.She told me how it can help improve writin g skills and grammar.That is a huge draw for me especiall y as I am a bo and ut to enter col,lege.I know that college life involves a lot of writing essays,reflec tions,research papers and I want to be well prepared.
why am I joining Hive?
First and foremost,I want to improved my ability to my writing skills and my grammar.I believe that clear an d effective communication is essential not just for academic success b ut for life in general.Secondly,I am eager to share my stories and experiences with the Hive community.I believe that everyone has a story to tell and that sharing these stories can connect us,to inspire us and help us learn from each other.Coleen @helianthus-chloe described Hive as a diverse community of people with different backgrounds and experiences and that is exactly what I am looking for.I want to connect with people from all walks of life and to learn from their perspectives also to contribute my own.
I believe that I can contribute to Hive by sharing my unique perspective as a young person from Mainit,Naga Cebu.I can share stories about my life,my family,my community and my dreams.I can also share my thoughts on topics that are important to me whether it is education,family or the challenges and opportunities facing young people today.I believe that authentic and heartfelt stories can resonate with readers and leave a lasting impact.I want to contribute to the rich tapestry of stories that make Hive such a vibrant and engaging platform.
