Yesterday, I posted about the phones that some members of my family received and now my post is also connected to a phone. But this time, it's a handicraft, a craft I love.
Taking care of phones is a must, not only ot phones but also to other things that we have to make them last. The phone my mother came with a free phone case and a pre-installed screen protector but she still worries to ge tthe screen scratched when she puts them in her bag.
Everyday, she goes to the farm and she got lots of things in her bag, necessities on her daily activities so and idea came to make he a phone case.
Its been a while since I last crocheted and finished something; it's either I get too lazy or I lack motivation to do so. Last December, I decided to have a come back on crochet world and start buying craft materials but I lost out of budget and did not realize my plan. I got sad but such is life: we don't get everything we want.
Now back to my mother's phone, to relieve her worries, I decided to make her a phone case. I grabbed my hook and digged on my old yarns to find something long enough to finish the project.
The biggest yarn ball I had at home is a yellow and I was thinking it could do the work. But it has got a thin strand, It would take me so long to finish and then I remembered that I could double the strand and use a bigger hook to finish it soon.
Sadly I could not double pull the yarn so I rolled some on a new ball and started right away.
This time as I was crocheting, I felt different; I got so sleepy and I am not sure whether it was because I lack sleep the night before, my age or just felt so relaxed to make me so sleepy.
But since I had a goal to finish the project that day, I fought the urge to sleep and won! Finally, I finnished the project before the day ended.
The pouch is made by chaining 17 stitches and working 2 single crochets on the second chain from the hook and and one singel crochets in each stitch across. I added four single crochet stitches on the end of the chain and one on the following stitch. I added another two single crochet stitches on the end of the stich where two single crochet sat to complete the round. I added single crochets in each stitch further until I got the desired length.
What's funny is that I saw one of my hairs were stitched along with the yarn! It happens a lot and some of my fellow crocheters experience this too.
And just when I was about to fiish my work, I ran out of one strand of yarn but of course, I still got it done.
And finally, I added a button to securely wrap the phone inside and preventing it to fall off.
My mother was delighted with the gift I made especially for her and now she don't have to worry about scratching her phone anymore.
The process was fun and fast but I did not like the part where I got sleepy.
So that folks is how I made the quick and simple phone pouch I made for my mother.
If you reached this far, I thank you so much for our time and support! I'll see you all around and keep safe!
