En el fútbol hay un viejo apotegma que dice: Si no conviertes en el arco contrario pese a contar con varias ocasiones propicias, invariablemente te convertirán en el tuyo propio.
Bueno no se si es así exactamente, pero ese el sentido. Cuando erras una y otra vez desperdiciando la posibilidad de convertir, es casi seguro que te convertirán y perderás el partido.
En el día de ayer este dicho popular una vez más se convirtió en realidad, el Bayern Munich desperdició varias ocasiones de gol, algunas muy claras, y pasó lo que yo suponía, no se puede desperdiciar ocasiones de gol cuando frente a ti está el campeón de la Champions. Los alemanes lo pagaron muy caro y quedaron eliminados en cuartos de final.
Fue un partido como se esperaba, ambos conjuntos son de lo mejor del mundo en estos momentos y las jugadas de calidad se sucedieron, una especie de toma y daca con un ligero predominio del conjunto teutón durante todo el primer tiempo, visualmente siempre estuvo apenas un centímetro por encima del rival y estos encuentros se resuelven por pequeños detalles generalmente.
La lesión de Jamal Musiala, dramática, por cierto, pudo haber provocado un punto de inflexión, sin embargo, al comienzo del segundo tiempo, luego de algunos minutos donde el PSG pareció tener una mejor actitud, todo volvió a lo que vimos en la primera parte: el Bayern dominando pelota y campo, creando oportunidades que fueron sistemáticamente desperdiciadas.
Los franceses contratacaron muy bien, en algunas ocasiones también ellos con peligro. A todo esto, el árbitro tuvo varias dudas, en realidad ninguna cuando se trataba de cobrar cualquier contacto fuera del área y casi siembre a favor de la defensa, no ocurría lo mismo dentro del área, pareció haber un penal a favor del Bayern por un empujón por detrás a Sacha Boey aunque en esa ocasión el "siga, siga" fue su respuesta.
Y tanto perdonó el Bayern que recibió una dosis de su propia medicina cuando en el minuto 33, el delantero Désiré Doué sorprendió al arquero alemán Manuel Neuer para estampar el 1 a 0. Los de camiseta roja se fueron con todo al ataque y vino la primera expulsión, William Pacho puso los tapones de sus botines en la pierna de un rival, nada que decir o mejor dicho si, eran minutos de zozobra donde los parisinos no encontraban la pelota, quizás un momento de desesperación. Kane convirtió de cabeza, pero el juez de línea levantó la bandera, segunda conquista alemana invalidada por fuera de juego. Los últimos minutos eran a matar o morir y fue morir para el Bayern, aunque su última oportunidad fue cuando en 2 minutos de descuento los franceses se quedaron con otro jugador menos, un codazo innecesario justo frente al árbitro motivó la roja a Lucas Hernandez y el peligro pasó a ser extremo, si el Bayern hubiera empatado tendrían que ir al alargue con 9 jugadores. No solamente no ocurrió eso, sino que, por el contrario, con todo el equipo alemán al ataque y ya casi sin piernas un contrataque del PSG provocó el segundo y definitivo gol convertido por Dembélé que lo redimió de otro errado un rato antes por una equivocación de Neuer.
Aquel que no vio el encuentro y se entera del 2 a 0 dirá, lógico ganó el mejor, sin embargo, no hubo diferencias, por el contrario, con un poco de suerte y si no hubiera errado tanto, quizás en este momento tendríamos un semifinalista distinto.
Y un dato adicional, a los 80 minutos ingresó en el Bayer Thomas Müller, como una forma de homenaje despedida para el gran jugador.
Solo resta esperar lo que a ojos de todo el mundo es la final anticipada, PSG vs. Real Madrid el miércoles próximo, para alquilar balcones diría mi abuela.

In football, there's an old saying that goes: If you don't score in the opponent's goal despite having several good chances, they'll invariably score in your own.
Well, I don't know if that's exactly right, but that's the point. When you repeatedly miss the chance to score, it's almost guaranteed that they'll score and you'll lose the game.
Yesterday, this popular saying once again became true. Bayern Munich missed several scoring chances, some very clear, and what I expected happened: you can't waste scoring opportunities when the Champions League champions are standing in front of you. The Germans paid a heavy price for it and were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
It was a match as expected. Both teams are among the best in the world right now, and quality plays came one after another, a kind of back-and-forth with the German team slightly dominating throughout the first half. Visually, they were always just an inch ahead of their opponents, and these matches are usually decided by small details.
Jamal Musiala's injury, dramatic, to be sure, could have caused a turning point. Anyone who didn't see the match and learns of the 2-0 scoreline will say, of course, the best team won. However, there was no difference. On the contrary, with a little luck and if he hadn't made so many mistakes, perhaps we'd have a different semifinalist by now.
And an additional fact: Thomas Müller came on for Bayern Munich at the 80th minute, as a way of paying homage to the great player.
All that remains is to wait for what everyone sees as the anticipated final: PSG vs. Real Madrid next Wednesday, a place my grandmother would say is a place to rent balconies.
