La Premier League se toma una pausa este fin de semana para dar paso a la cuarta fase de la Emirates FA Cup; dicha competición brinda la oportunidad a clubes de divisiones inferiores el enfrentar a rivales de la máxima categoría, pero en ocasiones y a causa del sorteo, podemos ver enfrentamientos entre clubes de la Premier League como por ejemplo el ocurrido en la 3.ª fase entre Arsenal y Liverpool; ahora en esta oportunidad quienes somos aficionados a este deporte, tuvimos la suerte de que nuevamente ocurriera otro emparejamiento entre equipos de la Premier, me refiero al que tuvieron el Tottenham Hotspurs y Manchester City.

Personalmente, estaba motivado de ver este juego porque creo que sin importar el entrenador que lideré el proyecto de uno de los clubes londinenses, los jugadores del Tottenham viven este enfrentamiento de una manera diferente; hay una motivación extra y en esta vez se presentaba la oportunidad de eliminar al actual campeón de todo en la temporada pasada y más aún cuando las estadísticas están a favor, me refiero que desde el 2019, con el estreno del "Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium", el Manchester City no había anotado, ni mucho menos obtenido una victoria en su rol de visitante; esto fue algo que me sorprendió al momento de tener conocimiento de dicha estadística porque no podía creer que un equipo con una alta calidad ofensiva estuvo casi 9 horas, lo que corresponde a 538 minutos sin anotar un gol y no solo eso, ya que existe otra sorprendente estadística y es que el ManCity creó hasta más de 100 ocasiones y ni así pudo conseguir un ansiado gol.

Seis encuentros diputados en la casa de los Hotspurs y Aké, defensor neerlandés, en una jugada a balón parado y con cierta polémica, consigue anotar el gol que puso fin a la racha negativa del equipo de Guardiola como visitante; desde el encuentro de ida por los cuartos de final de la UCL en el 2019 hasta la fecha, el Tottenham anotó siete goles a favor, con la mitad de ocasiones realizadas por su rival y con un porcentaje muy bajo en la posesión del balón lo cual le otorgó cinco victorias, pero en el encuentro al cual definí como el que más paridad tuvo entre estos dos clubes, es donde no puede alargar dicha racha contra un importante rival.
A pesar de las bajas de Son y Haaland, ambos clubes dieron todo por brindar un buen espectáculo; quiero resaltar la táctica y la necesidad de ambos de jugar muy bien el fútbol, aunque claramente ambos equipos estaban obligados a responder en zonas diferentes, por ejemplo el equipo local realizó un excelente trabajo defensivo, Romero cada vez se ve más calmado, con mejor intuición y en mi opinión tiene todo para ser un central de mucha más calidad, hoy fue un líder en gran parte del juego; por parte del club visitante, destaco el trabajo del primer tiempo de Kovacic, el cual creo que le ha costado adaptarse al equipo, pero hoy se sintió más natural y mejor entendimiento con Rodri y demás compañeros, creo que cuando De Bruyne este al 100%, pueden ambos formar una pareja de mucho cuidado en el medio campo.
