If I slip up and receive a good gift, I will not have given a good gift. This is probably a natural law that affects us all and needs a name. The Gift Reciprocal Law.

The heart reciprocates.
Have you ever felt the need to say the golden words to people? The need to hug someone in pain even when no one hugged you in yours? The need to motivate people even when you are losing yourself? The need to cleanse off someone's tears when you only have the pillow to clean yours? Have you ever felt this and others you can think of?
If you answered “Yes” to be above questions you aren’t wrong.
If you answered “No” you aren’t wrong either.
As individuals, we are structured differently and do things differently, what you may think wrong might be right to another, and what you term “Ego” maybe someone else’s way of keeping to themselves because of certain circumstances.
Life has dealt with us differently and in these different times, we meet with certain individuals who either come to add more to the blow given or help relieve the swollen lump.
Reciprocity can be in form of an abstract noun or sometimes it can be held like giving out a gift to someone on their special day.
The act of reciprocating needs two to make it work like in tango but the world we are in now may break us apart in not receiving it back from the person giving it to. Though we receive it back later when we least expect it from things or people around us.
Citing an example of myself for better understanding.
I am a people person and not a people person which means I have my extroverted and introverted side at work.
I am a soul that feels indebted whenever someone does something to me, I always feel the need to return the positive vibe. People close to me know there is something I stay far away from which is “debt” which is why I always reciprocate back what people do in order not to be in debt.
Apart from this, I have a kindred spirit that helps people, especially in times of their need. I usually have friends calling on me in their darkest hours as I have been told I have the spirit to lighten up a dark room. This light follows me everywhere that makes people want to associate with me which I return with a great vibe. A friend once told me I am like a moon, gloomy or shiny I always display that radiance.
Having given my all to people around me and beyond, I don’t want it returned though, a certain part of me craves this in my darkest hours when I have no one to call or talk to which is where my introverted does come in.
I mentioned “Ego” which some feel I have in great quantity 😂😂 but I am the opposite of their thoughts, like I said, life has dealt with us differently which makes us react to things differently, the truth is I'm not used to receiving from people when I give back which is one of the reasons I love staying to myself even in times of pain.
Though I have reciprocated by being around to show love anywhere I find myself, whenever a friend is sick the person is assured that I will be a 3 Square meal calling in the morning, afternoon, and night to check up on the person.

But many times I have stayed with this love not given back or less given. These times I have a certain part of me that question me, “why does it seem like no one cares?” but at this time my heart reminds me people are different and the presence of nature reminds me that the presence of my creator has reciprocated back what I have given with the presence of air around me and the ability to feel and see nature enchanting beauty all around.
Seeing this makes me realize that whatever is given out will be reciprocated. Just like we all know that “whatever goes around, comes back around”. Sometimes it happens that the people we reciprocated the love to do not return It but either way we receive it back from the people we know or others we are yet to meet or nature will fill in the void.
This brings us back to the ‘Titled Question.’
"Reciprocity, should it be expected?"
Yes? No? Or maybe?
Whichever answer you give to it, note this, whether we should expect it, not expect it or maybe expect it, “Karma” will always give it back in various forms it sees fit.
