Hello everyone!
Glad to be part of this community and looking forward to her growth. Our growth!
This is quite an interesting and broad topic.
That said, here's my contribution.
Simply, Reciprocal means "As I have done".
The word is often associated with Respect but it isn't always the case as it can be applied in every sphere of life.
My dad told me a story, he said, "A certain rich man was respected and loved by people. Each time he was invited to an event, he never showed up but made sure to send across a gift. Every single time! He never even honoured the invitations from his own relatives. But if they needed financial assistance, trust he'll come through for them.
A time came when he held a Thanksgiving party. He invited the whole village, his friends and relatives. It was to be a big celebration. A merry one. On that day, he arrived but there were no people at the venue. He waited and waited, yet no one showed up. Inspite of their absence, people had managed to send their gifts-Everyone had thought their absence wouldn't be felt. When be saw the gifts, he broke down and cried inconsolably." He wasn't a bad man but his dress had caught up with him.
His actions were reciprocated. Absence for absence. Gift for gift.
Just like the man, our works come back to either make or break us. But unlike the man, life isn't always in black and white. It has no rules.
I remember this little girl(a family friend's daughter)who came around. My brother took her to a supermarket and bought her a few snacks. He asked her to give him some and she refused. She gave no one. Not even her mother. Later that day, my brother bought snacks and was eating, she walked over to him, stretched her hand and demanded that he gives her some. He didn't. He ate it all.
The next day when she came around with some biscuits, she went over to him and offered him some without his asking. She had learnt. It's that simple!
If you need people to offer help in your time of need, do so fo them in theirs.
If you need people to be there for you, be there for them.
Don't be rude to others if you despise rudeness.
Everything we do has a way of coming back to us whether big or small, good or evil.
If you want respect, give respect.
If you want to have good friends, be a good friend.
Sometimes, we do not always recieve the reward for our actions ourselves. They may be recieved by the ones we love.
And act of kindness is never forgotten.
One true act of kindness sparks another.
Above all, when you do good, don't expect to receive. Do it because it's the right thing to do.
Remember the Golden rule!
Thanks for your time.
Good-day!
