Y llegó el día final del evento "MERGE Buenos Aires", realizado en el Palacio Libertad, llamado también Centro Cultural Domingo Faustino Sarmiento ubicado en Sarmiento 151, Ciudad Autónoma. Han sido dos largos días de trabajo, haciendo networking y representando a HIVE de la manera como nos gusta hacerlo: con total libertad para circular alrededor de las charlas, los pasillos, las exhibiciones y los stands de los sponsors. Eso nos entregó una oportunidad muy buena para conectar con constructores de la Web3 y con proyectos tan disímiles como tokenización de commodities y agencias de viaje quienes aceptan crypto pagos. Un mar de posibilidades a las cuales solo una imaginación corta, podría dejar de sacar provecho. El mundo cambió desde que se gestó el bloque génesis de Bitcoin y el evento dejó esto en evidencia.

And then came the final day of the event “MERGE Buenos Aires”, held at the Palacio Libertad, also called Centro Cultural Domingo Faustino Sarmiento located at Sarmiento 151, Ciudad Autónoma. It has been two long days of work, networking and representing HIVE in the way we like to do it: with total freedom to circulate around the talks, the halls, the exhibits and the sponsors' stands. This gave us a great opportunity to connect with Web3 builders and with projects as dissimilar as commodity tokenization and travel agencies who accept crypto payments. A sea of possibilities that only a short imagination could fail to take advantage of. The world has changed since the genesis block of Bitcoin was created and the event made this clear.
Tal como fue previsto en nuestra primera publicación sobre el encuentro de la comunidad Web3 en Buenos Aires, hubo mucho más público asistente ¿la razón? los organizadores decidieron abrir las puertas a los interesados en general y era obvio la baja de comprensión entre quienes hicieron presencia en el desarrollo de los temas dedicados al potencial de blockchain como tecnología. Caímos en cuenta de la enorme brecha existente entre el interés real y quienes solo se acercaron a buscar una franela o gorra de parte de los sponsors. La verdad, creo, difícil saber como incorporar a las masas, si ellas mismas no muestran el interés por aprender a como servirse de la tecnología.

As predicted in our first publication about the Web3 community meeting in Buenos Aires, there was much more public attending, the reason? the organizers decided to open the doors to those interested in general and it was obvious the low understanding among those who attended the development of the topics dedicated to the potential of blockchain as a technology. We realized the huge gap between the real interest and those who only came to look for a t-shirt or cap from the sponsors. The truth is, I think, difficult to know how to incorporate the masses, if they themselves do not show interest in learning how to use the technology.
Dicho esto, también logramos discernir la responsabilidad enorme de quienes lideran y enseñan en Web3, el potencial inimaginable de las ideas aterrizadas en blockchain y el compromiso -además del desafío- por dejar en claro que el dinero de la vieja economía fiat, llegará a manos de las personas que se monten en el tren en el viaje del mañana ¿Difícil? No lo sé, depende de cada quien y como pueda colaborar. Es imperativo si usted está sentado en una silla o acostado en una cama leyéndome, salga a la calle a buscar maneras de "evangelizar" sobre la Web3. Jamás deberá pensar en: ¿Qué obtengo a cambio si lo hago? So pena de desperdiciar tiempo ¿Por qué? Bueno, digamos que usted sería un zopenco al creer que si usted no enseña se quedará con una mayor parte de la partición de la torta. Es una manera de pensar mezquina que jamás le llevará a ningún lado.

¿Y por qué hacerlo gratis? Usted necesita seguidores, necesita que le vean actuar por y para nuestra comunidad. Y, por supuesto, luchar por ella. Nos llamó poderosamente la atención de una comunidad llamada Truth, quienes minan el token del mismo nombre. El entusiasmo de su gente atendiendo el stand, nos hizo recordar el mismo entusiasmo visto por los Hivers en la CBW-2023 al comenzar a trabajar sin esperar nada a cambio, cuando el mar de público nos rebasó. Esa vocación de servicio es la que hace falta para que las masas adopten Web3 más rápidamente. Y tendrá que ser así, porque Bitcoin es finito y quisiera poder ayudar a quienes están afuera, para que reciban su pedazo de la torta ¿Y por qué recomiendo comportarse como buen samaritano? Porque pensé las charlas iban a estar menos complicadas para ser entendidas por el público visitante, pero así no fue, dado que parece los expositores evitan aterrizar el discurso para hacerlo digerible. Y es allí donde este tipo de eventos pueden ser útiles, mientras, seguirán siendo un desperdicio de dinero en una industria que ha olvidado los principios mediante los cuales se fundó Bitcoin ¿Que piensas tú, estimado lector?.

And that is where this kind of events can be useful, meanwhile, they will remain a waste of money in an industry that has forgotten the principles by which Bitcoin was founded.
