Sacar el mundo virtual a la realidad es uno de los objetivos perseguidos por los Hivers de todo el mundo. De otro modo ¿Para qué sirven las redes? Y ha querido la providencia que leyéramos en twitter la convocatoria al encuentro de usuarios de #Hive en un MeetUp realizado en el restaurant Sefardí, del Centro Comercial Estación Central, en el centro de la ciudad de Maracay, Estado Aragua en Venezuela.
Bringing the virtual world into reality is one of the goals pursued by Hivers around the world. Otherwise, what is the use of networks? And providence wanted us to read on Twitter the call for the meeting of #Hive users in a MeetUp held at the Sefardi restaurant, in the Estación Central Shopping Center, in the center of the city of Maracay, Aragua State in Venezuela.
Y ¿por qué decimos que la providencia quiso? Simple, leí el tweet la noche del Jueves cerca de las once de la noche. Los pasos para registrarse estaban en la convocatoria del evento y pensé lo rápido que se llenarían los cupos. Generalmente no le hago esto a mi esposa, pero ¿cómo desaprovechar la oportunidad del primer MeetUp de HIVE en la ciudad? Así las cosas, la inscribí sin consultarle junto conmigo. Menos mal. La organizadora del evento me contó que a las once de la mañana del día siguiente a la publicación, los cupos se habían agotado.
And why do we say that providence willed it? Simple, I read the tweet Thursday night around 11 pm. The steps to register were in the call for registration of the event and I thought how fast the spots would fill up. I usually don't do this to my wife, but how could I miss the opportunity of the first HIVE MeetUp in town? So, I signed her up without consulting her and myself. Thank goodness. The event organizer told me that by eleven o'clock in the morning the day after the event was published, the event was sold out.

Teníamos un compromiso previo en la ciudad de Caracas por el cumpleaños de mi hermana, pero el horario del evento se ajustó al itinerario. No me gusta manejar de noche. Dicho esto, las horas planificadas fueron entre las 12:30 p.m. y las 5:00 p.m. De éste modo, nos tendríamos que retirar cerca de las 4:30 p.m. para que la oscuridad en la carretera no se materializara. En todo caso, arribamos al lugar a las 12:45 p.m. y nos conseguimos en la escalera con @garybilbao, llegamos justo para tomar selfies con los usuarios que se encontraban allí compartiendo. @yolimarag nos dio la bienvenida en la entrada, acompañada de @irvinc y @damarysvibra.
We had a previous engagement in the city of Caracas for my sister's birthday, but the timing of the event fit the itinerary. I wouldn't say I like to drive at night. That being said, the planned times were between 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thus, we would have to leave around 4:30 p.m. so that darkness on the road would not materialize. In any case, we arrived at the site at 12:45 p.m. and got on the stairs with @garybilbao, we arrived just in time to take selfies with the users who were there sharing. @yolimarag welcomed us at the entrance, accompanied by @irvinc and @damarysvibra.
La buena vibra flotaba en el ambiente y todo se convirtió en un intercambio de experiencias, además de conversaciones sobre la vida personal de cada quien, entre los asistentes. Tenía tiempo que no iba para alguna reunión de este tipo. La verdad me impresionó ver tantas sonrisas dibujadas en la cara. Éramos como familiares que se conseguían luego de un tiempo sin verse. La verdad, es reconfortante presenciar como un quehacer diario se entremezcla con los creadores de contenidos emocionados por intercambiar pareceres en cualquier ámbito.
The excellent vibe was in the air and everything turned into an exchange of experiences, as well as conversations about the personal life of each of us, among the attendees. It had been a while since I had been to a meeting of this kind. I was impressed to see so many smiles on our faces. We were like family members who had not seen each other for some time. The truth is that it is comforting to witness how a daily task is intermingled with content creators excited to exchange views in any field.

Pronto, la organizadora del evento nos entregó la primera sorpresa de la tarde: un grupo de música venezolana. El arpa, el cuatro y las maracas reventaron en un concierto de piezas variadas propias de los llanos venezolanos. Reencontrarnos con la patria musical nos llenó de emoción. Y lo digo porque acostumbro el silencio en mi hogar. Una vez culminado el set de música, la organizadora dio paso a los discursos, no sin antes permitir la anotación por parte del personal del restaurante de los platillos a degustar por los comensales.
Soon, the organizer of the event gave us the first surprise of the afternoon: a Venezuelan music group. The harp, the cuatro, and the maracas burst out in a concert of varied pieces typical of the Venezuelan plains. We were thrilled to be reunited with our musical homeland. And I say this because I am used to silencing in my home. Once the music set was over, the organizer gave way to the speeches, but not before allowing the restaurant staff to write down the dishes to be tasted by the diners.

¿Los temas abordados? Historias personales de éxito en la blockchain de HIVE, HIVE como una aventura, HIVE como plataforma de negocios, Pasión por la creación de contenidos, Empoderamiento económico en la plataforma, Importancia en el reclutamiento de nuevos usuarios, en fín, una serie de discursos motivacionales y de conocimientos sobre las posibilidades ofrecidas por HIVE. Muchos desconocían éstas historias y creo, firmemente, se logró el resultado que se perseguía con el evento.
The topics addressed? Personal success stories on the HIVE blockchain, HIVE as an adventure, HIVE as a business platform, Passion for content creation, Economic empowerment on the platform, Importance in the recruitment of new users, in short, a series of motivational speeches and knowledge about the possibilities offered by HIVE. Many were unaware of these stories and I firmly believe that the event achieved its intended result.
La verdad, sin el apoyo de @guiltyparties, @valueplan y los chicos de @hivecreatorsday, no habría sido posible dibujar la magia de una tarde maracayera, donde quienes dan forma al feed de #Hive pudieron intercambiar mucha información en un ambiente distendido, enriquecedor y de un valor agregado inconmensurable. Sacar de la pantalla al mundo real nuestra cadena, es una forma de alertar a quienes pierden su tiempo en la web 2.0. Ninguna de esas redes ofrecen oportunidades de este tipo y la atesoraremos en nuestro recuerdo como algo posible. Algo palpable. Un beneficio implícito en el transitar de nuestra plataforma, que nos ayuda a dar forma a las relaciones verdaderas e imperecederas.
Truth be told, without the support of @guiltyparties, @valueplan and the guys from @hivecreatorsday, it would not have been possible to draw the magic of an afternoon in Maracay, where those who shape the #Hive feed were able to exchange a lot of information in a relaxed, enriching, and immeasurable value-added environment. Taking our network from the screen to the real world is a way of alerting those who waste their time on web 2.0. None of these networks offer opportunities of this type and we will treasure it in our memories as something possible. Something palpable. An implicit benefit in the transit of our platform, which helps us to shape true and everlasting relationships.
