Good day Hivers! Hello everyone, hope we are all doing fine.
Today was scheduled for another OCD Onboarding Orientation held at Caduawan Elementary School. This will be another Hive Orientation conducted in the Northern part of Cebu. And we are all very lucky to join and be part of this onboarding program. We got so many ideas and inputs from our facilitator and other co-hivers.
As a Start
So of course, coffee is life ☕ so I took a cup of coffee to start my day and my daughter sat beside me with her MILO. We have this kind of moment every morning so we cannot skip it today. After, we prepare ourselves to go to the venue.
The Venue
I bring my daughter to the orientation. The venue is very accessible and just a few steps from our house. The venue is at Caduawan Elementary School. They have a very wide parking lot for cars and motorcycles of the visitors.
As we entered the H.E. Room where we will have our Onboarding Orientation, I saw @simplybil together with an invitee, an ex-schoolmate of mine way back in high school. They were preparing something for the later's activity.
The invitees are already in the room, I think that they were interested to hear about this Onboarding Program of Hive. They were early and settled down waiting for the program to start. While our facilitator @indayclara and @callmesmile was preparing for the presentation.
We are welcomed by this coffee table. The host really knows what the visitor wants (😂). Coffee with otap is a perfect combo for snacks.
I wandered around the venue and found @missbebeth and @annetimistic together with their co-teacher doing something in the kitchen. They were preparing fried bananas for snacks to serve to all the participants.
Little did I notice that the room was suddenly full - full of participating invitees who showed interest in this program.
Onboarding Orientation
As the Hive logo was flashed on the screen, I knew that the program was about to start. We started the program with a prayer led by @callmesmile.
After we settled ourselves and started with the introduction of each one of us. Our facilitator would like to know each of us and what are our hobbies for us to determine which community would we fit in. Invitees came from different places like Cebu City, San Remigio and Tabogon area. This only means that this community of ours are getting bigger and bigger.
@indayclara our gorgeous speaker then started the program proper by introducing Hive to the participants. She focused on the Basics of Hive. She also discusses the ecosystem of the hive platform. Hive is owned by everyone, unlike other social media platforms that have one (1) owner. The hive community is a growing and improving platform that connects everyone around the globe.
Hive is the best alternative to enter into the world of cryptocurrency. This was composed of blockchain, decentralized and uncensored.
In the middle of the discussion, our co-hivers who hosted for today's venue came busy serving snacks to the participants. The table was full of delicious foods and fruits in different varieties. For sure no one got hungry at this time.
At this moment, @callmesmile took over and discussed the interface of PeakD. This is where we can earn the Hive Backed Dollar that will be transferred to our wallets. She shows us the features of PeakD and what we can see inside. We have the Blog, where we can see the posts of our co-bloggers that we reblogged. The All Post is where we can see our own blogs. The Replies, where we can look through other replies on our blogs that we may missed from our notifications.
There's also the Payout - where we can monitor the schedule of our next payout and the possible amount of HBD and HP that we can have for the upcoming payout. There's also the Wallet - where we can look up our rewards, savings and other incentives. Also, the Notification button for us to be updated when someone upvoted, reblogged and replied to our blog. A very user-friendly platform that we can all access to.
The next topic was focused on the reward system in PeakD. The upvotes you've earned will be split 50/50. The other 50% goes to the author and the other 50% goes to the curator. The 50% that goes to the author will be split again into 50/50. The 50% is the withdrawable HBD and the other 50% is the HP which is the Hive Power.
The next topic is how to create your blog. @indayclara emphasizes the do's and don'ts when creating a blog. We have to be careful for us to stay on this platform. If we were careless that would lead us to no future in this community. Engaging is also an important factor for us to be recognized by curators and other bloggers that already stabilized their reputation in the world of Hive.
When creating an intro blog, it is very important to have a captivating photo that would attract huge curators in this world. We can use as many photos as we want. Make sure to make 500 to 800 words that would describe you as a whole. And tag the person who introduced you to Hive.
After making an introduction, there will be Hivers that will guide you to enter and create your account to be able to be part of this growing platform. This is the onboarding program of OCD, they will be helping an onboard for four months. After they graduated, @naymhapz then explained to everyone that we have a create very good and attractive content to be able to stand on this platform. After they graduated they became more eager to create more blogs and never be discouraged with low upvotes.
After all the discussions, the facilitator opens the floor for an open forum, question and answer portion and any clarifications. Invitees raised their questions which were answered clearly by the facilitator.
Photo opportunity as an ending of every forum. I could say that it's a wrap. Another fruitful and productive day it is.
I also grab this one-time opportunity to have a picture together with this kind and brilliant person, our facilitator/speaker the one and only @indayclara.
As the clock ticks to noon, just in time... The generous hosts prepared lunch for everyone to share. A very delicious and healthy food was served that we could not resist. We then all bless the food and start to attack the table.
After lunch, we had a little chat with @indayclara to finalize the upcoming Christmas Party that was planned already. We are given tasks for the said event. And we are very excited again for this moment.
Another successful Hive Orientation here at Caduawan Elementary School, Northern Cebu. This was made possible with the guidance of @lovinglymers and her teachers who were also into Hive. We are very grateful for their effort and support in making this possible. @missbebeth, @simplybil, @nanayko and @annetimistic.
Thank you so much for reading my blog and have a nice day.
