“Since you have a passion for writing, why don’t you try sharing your works in Hive?”
Hi, Hive community! I am Kian, a 20-year-old blogger from the Philippines. I have been here in Hive since last month. Even if I am just starting my journey here, I am already enjoying my stay here in this community.
The first thing that I did before creating my account was to attend my first Hive onboarding webinar. The first part of the webinar was the “introduce yourself” part. We needed to state our name and our passion. I was nervous at first but after some time, I easily became comfortable because they were all so friendly and the atmosphere was light. This webinar gave me an overview of how Hive works. They also discussed the do's and dont's on the platform. This was a very helpful webinar as it gave me a heads-up on what I’m going to expect with the platform. I also got to meet different bloggers who also shared the same interests as mine.
After a few days after the webinar, I posted my first article which is my introductory post. I was anxious at first to the point that I was so scared to click the publish button. Questions such as "what if it won’t be noticed or liked by anyone?" and "what if they won’t like my way of writing?" came rushing through my head. But of course, I didn't let my doubt with myself win and I published it!
I was very happy and overwhelmed by the number of people who commented on my very first article. I am so grateful for their kind words. Thank you for such a warm welcome. They lifted my spirit and helped me forget the doubts I had within myself.
My first month here in Hive was smooth sailing. I thought I would find it hard to cope with this new community because I have no knowledge about this and I don’t know anyone here. I am also horrified to feel out of place but I am happy with the hive community as they are all friendly and welcoming.
I want to thank some people who made my first month in this community easy.
Of course, I want to thank my onboarder, @romeskie. She’s the one who gave me the chance to be part of this community and guided me from the very beginning, from the very first post that I published up to now. She’s like a mother figure to me as she never gets tired of explaining and answering my endless questions about Hive.
I would also want to thank @tpkidkai for if not for him, I wouldn't discover this amazing platform. He was the one who posted about this on social media specifically, on Facebook. My cousin saw it and suggested it to me. I wouldn't be here because of him.
Lastly, I want to thank all the bloggers with who I have interacted here. You made my stay here enjoyable and worthwhile. Looking forward to more interaction with you all.
So far, I have only published five articles. Rest assured that I am going to do my best to create more quality content and contribute more to this community.
I have mentioned in my introductory post the reasons why I write. It is to express and escape. I use writing as a tool to express myself and also to escape reality once in a while. And I am glad that the Hive community became a platform for me to express and escape. Joining Hive is one of the best decisions I have made.
Thank you so much for reading my blog! See you at my next one.
