17 Days since I posted on Hive. Lesson: Do not spend your time on unprofitable ventures.
Today makes it exactly 17 days since I posted on #hive. It has been a mixed feeling as to why I couldn't get on with my regular activities. I thank God that I am fully back to my normal routine. I have been engaged in other activities that have taken up almost all of my time. Every time I want to post, something else will emanate which debars me from doing so. Just yesterday, I was able to conclude the projects, so I can go back to my normal lifestyle.
I know some people must have missed me a lot, so I even tried to reach out. I am really grateful. It shows that some people still care. However, whatever happens to man, he must draw some lessons from it. I am the type of person who pays attention to everything that happens around me. Just this morning, I was reflecting on so many things about my life since I stopped posting on Hive, and I realised that a lot has changed around me. First of all, I have lost concentration on reading long posts. Last night, I opened my blog and wanted to go through some posts. I realised how I struggled to sustain a long read. This is what I've been doing effortlessly and I usually enjoyed doing so. So, 17 days away from the hive took my reading abilities away.
Moreover, my writing speed has also dropped drastically. Before now, I usually wrote about 500 words in 15 minutes. But I realised that it's been 30 minutes, and I can't write up to 300 words. Beyond the writing speed, I think my vocabulary has also been affected. This is so unlike me. My word bank has depleted and it's a sign that I need to do something about it immediately.
I have also realised that whatever you stop doing, you tend to easily forget it. Meanwhile, what you do frequently, you become skilful and you do them effortlessly. Content creation is all about engagement, and the more you do it, the more you become relevant.
Very regrettable is the fact that my 17 days away from the hive also affected my earnings. Even though I still get some rewards, it is not as rewarding as it ought to be. This is a Prof that content creation is all about earning as you work. You cannot expect money where you did not work.
Above all, I have realised that no matter how busy you might be, create time to engage in the things that bring money. Do not use the whole of your time and resources on things that are not profitable. If not you'll end up regretting your actions. This is what happened to me in the past two weeks and some days. The things I engaged my time on, though they will bring money in the future, my engagement on Hive was affected, hence my earnings were affected too.
