The more we promote Hive, the better it will be! It's interesting to see that even with the promotional work most of us have embarked on virtually in the past, it haven't yet given adequate awareness to many people. The majority of people out there are yet to see the opportunity embedded in Web 3, hive inclusive.
Recently, I was privileged to attend a women's seminar, and over there, people were asked to talk about what they do to earn a living, and when it got to my turn, I told them I am a blogger on the Hive Blockchain, and then it sounded so strange to all of them. Not even one woman out of 45 in attendance knew about hive; however, I gave a brief explanation of it, and at the end of the day, two women showed interest and approached me for more coaching after the seminar, and I already created an account for one of them.
As much as promotional work on Web 2 has attracted some people to the hive Blockchain, I strongly suggest that physical meetings be considered. This is because a lot of people find web 3 navigation so complex, and this has been one of the reasons why some people, after explaining everything, lack the interest to join or some join and can't stay for a long time. This explains why leaving a newbie to navigate the blockchain can be overwhelming. Not every individual we try onboarding virtually would really understand how things work here, even with a guide, and it becomes important that we seek ways to cover everyone according to their capabilities. This was exactly my case and why it took my long time to finally come onboard.
Imagine reaching out to university students on campuses to create this awareness and having someone physically guide them on how to navigate the blockchain? It will reduce the rate of frustration some people usually encounter.
In my locality also, the issue of strong networks has lingered for years. All efforts toward the government's intervention have proven abortive. I usually get frustrated each time I am traveling home, knowing that connecting with friends online or doing my hive activities will be interrupted. Imagine solving this project through Hive. Wow, it's going to really expose our dear hive, even to some of my community members abroad. This is one project I think will promote Hive with a desirable result in my locality.
I am aware that this project will be capital-intensive, but it's still achievable. I am also optimistic about how far this project will onboard people around me and outside my locality. I haven't been to an in-person or virtual Hive meetup before, but it's something the Hive Naija community can host and together achieve different projects in different localities if given the needed support. Gradually, people will keep getting aware of Hive, and both bloggers and investors might be onboarded alongside to the benefit of everyone in the Hive ecosystem.
