Another week, another Dominaria United Set Booster pack! The outside is the same as last week, so I'll start with the standard stuff: an art card, a basic land, and an insert.
No token card, just a promo to buy more boosters. The art on the land card is decent. The special art card is a nice version of the picture from one of the cards I last week though. I like it.
On with the commons!
Bog Badger: CMC 3 (2G) for a 3/3 that can be kicked for B to give everyone menace is solid. Also, badgers!
Take Up the Shield: CMC 2 (1W) to give a permanent +1/+1 boost plus temporary lifelink and indestructible is good value. I'd consider running a full playset of 4 in a Standard deck.
Radiant Grove: dual land, Enters tapped. Counts as both a Forest and a Plains though.
Barkweave Crusher: CMC 4 (3G) for a 2/5 with the new Enlist ability. I don't know what I think.
Coalition Skyknight: CMC4 (3W) for a 2/2 flyer is bad. The Enlist ability might make up for it. I haven't built a deck yet to test it.
Tura Kennerüd, Skyknight: CMC 5 (2WUU) for a 3/3 flyer is overcosted, but this is a potential general for EDH decks, and that soldier token generation is solid. And there's an umlaut in the name, so that's something.
Protect the Negotiators: CMC 2 (1U) isn't too bad for classic blue counterspell shenanigans, and that kicker for W is nice, too. I think this may have uses...
Garna, Bloodfist of Keld: CMC 4 (1BRR) for a 4/3 is a bit overcosted, but you're probably playing this mainly for that card draw and damage ping engine.
Nemata, Primeval Warden: CMC 4 for a slightly sturdier 3/4 with reach is good. Exiling things that die for free Saprolings is better. Buffs or card draw are great. Showcase art on this version is nice, too. @sapadetzero will probably want this card.
Drag to the Bottom: CMC 4 (2BB) to cripple things is a game-chager, literally. It also hist your own stuff, so beware. It also gets better the more colors you run.
Shanna, Purifying Blade: CMC 3 (GWU) for a 3/3 with lifelink and a card draw engine to boot! And a foil!
No high-dollar cards, but it might be time to build a Bant shard deck. That's all I have to say about this for now.
