So what I'm gonna display today is the Uthuk Y'llan faction, which is the Berserkers. Its a foot unit of tribal human with bones protruding from their bodies. So let's just take a look into.
THE FIRST STEP
As usual the first step always started with priming the minis. I used my usual Brainmatter Beige from Army Painter to prime them. The paint is too viscous to use and very difficult to stick into the plastic surface (after all, I kept using them for priming until they all used up). A few drop of water would be needed to thin them and allow enough flow. Anyway, the final result still looks great and ready for the base painting.
THE BASE PAINT
The base paint consist of the skin parts and the fabric parts. The fabric are painted using Khorne Red which is darker, and then I layered it using Mephiston Red. For the skin, I used Nighthaunt Gloom to give a bluish wash before paint it with Celestar Grey.
So here we could see the paint result. The minis looks beautiful in their primary colors.
PAINTING THE DETAIL
A further details includes:
- Arm and shin wraps using Rhinox Hide, washed with Agrax Earthshade, and dry brushed using Sylvaneth Bark.
- The bones and the sickle are colored using Wraithbone, washed with Agrax Earthshade, and layered using Ushabti Bone.
- The rope lining the sickle and belt are colored using Steel Legion Darb.
- And lastly the bases are decorated with Agrellan Badland.
Here's the final close up detail of the miniatures. The final result doesn't looks neat, especially several details lost because the paint muddled. In addition made mistake by previously shading Dreadful Visage, where it gave too translucent color.
