Murknob With Belcha-Banna is one of the first few new unit coming to the Age Of Sigmar 3rd editions. It's first introduced on the Dominion box set. While Stormcast Eternals get Knight-Vexillor With Banner Of Apotheosis to rally the grand army; Kruleboyz are accompanied with Murknob holding the terrifying Belcha-Banna. Murknob play vital roles as banner holder which bring aura effect to opponents within its range.
Murknob are very much similar to Gutrippaz units. It wears ragtag cloths with several metallic knee-guard or shoulder-guard. There're no striking features, except for its tribal-like banner and the grotesque severed heads dangling around. The banner which is called Totem, appears as a giant fanged mouth on a pole; and upon the open mouth, a severed tongue of venomous monster was sticked to it.
I've been delaying the paintwork for this unit. But its just because I reluctant to paint it with the limited color in my current inventory. Now that I have hoarded a more diverse color selection, its time to work on this shaman.
As usual we started by covering up the whole surface with Abaddon Black as a primer. The primer should give a darker base color to the minis, which would be useful to cover up any missed surface.
We go with the basic color. Mephiston Red are used to cover the totem's face. Next Armypainter's Greenskin is used to color the basic skin of the orc. Rhinox Hide still come as my primary choices for the clothes. Leadbelcher color the knee-guard and the shoulder-guard. For the smaller totem face, I decided to use Armypainter Bronze Weapon.
I continue to color further details of minis, which includes the base and stepping stone. The severed head and skull are also put into their basic color using Bugman's Glow. Rough Iron was used for the dangling chains. I found its a very interesting color to combine Ryza Rust to create rust effect. For shade, I use Agrax Earthshade to darken the deeper recess. I used Steel Legion Darb to color the straw rope dangling in the neck and wrapping around the thigh.
Finally a few finishing touch to create the highlight. I put Khorne Red to highlight the totem's face. The flesh of the severed head was highlighted using Cadian Fleshtone, while the skiing of the orc, I layer it with Orruk Flesh.
