Hello Hivers!
I have to say that I'm glad to see more posts each day in tabletop/RPG categories since I started to write on Hive Blog, and it's awesome! I like to suggest you to check out @makerhacks, @jacobtothe, and @captainglondo for their beautiful contents! I want to suggest more people in time, as much as I could see more interactions around. That's what a community for, right?
So... In my previous post, I wrote a review about ALIEN RPG, from Free League Publishing. And actually I had a Call of Cthulhu session last night, but it was cancelled. I was randomly hanging around hive posts and saw lots of "personal story" type stuff, and I wanted to share my current RPG schedule, and want to learn about yours.
First of all, if you still don't know about it, I'm a content creator in my native language (which is Turkish) and my goal is to be an official game designer and scenario writer. I did some attempts for it, have some ongoing projects but don't have much time to complete them. So, my schedule is kind of full with RPG stuff.
Monday nights I have a paid group who wants to play Masks of Nyarlathotep scneario of Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition. We are broadcasting it on my YouTube channel. So, day time goes for getting ready for it.
Tuesday nights I run The Wild Beyond The Witchlight scenario of Dungeons & Dragons, for commercial on a more popular YouTube channel. Actually I don't do much preparation for it, since I get myself ready for a whole chapter, but the group goes for a little bit of the adventure, also the game cancels bi-weekly because of technical difficulties.
Wednesday nights I'm a player of an ALIEN RPG group I gathered. I have a sci-fi and horror lover friend and simply I locked the GMing work to him to avoid some of the work load. If everything goes well, we will start to broadcast Destroyer of Worlds campaign scenario on my YouTube channel. Basically, one hour before the gathering, I check the rules quickly to help our GM to get use it better.
Thursday nights we have a KULT: Divinity Lost game session. It's a 1-on-1 game which we take records and I edit the video and put some background music and sfx, then release on my YouTube channel. Actually KULT is my most favorite game system, and I'll write stuff about it here, but for now, I don't have much time for game preparation, and I found an excited friend who really wants to learn and run the game. So basically I help him improve while we produce nice content. Win-win!
Fridays we will start to record Starter Set adventures of The One Ring RPG 2nd Edition. I cannot talk too much about it, because its physical release is on hold, and there's a content embargo about it. I just wanted to get myself ready when the embargo goes off.
Saturday nights, I run paid sessions of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden scenario of Dungeons & Dragons. This game has newbie friends in it, and one of the players is broadcasting the game on his YouTube channel. Since they constantly go off from the book's path of adventure, I mostly produce the scenario on the way. I don't do much study for this game, but I check the critical points which I could link their off-way into the exact scenario. They seem happy about it, and I find the scenario hasa lack of connectivity at some points.
Sundays I run another paid game of Dungeons & Dragons, but it's a 3rd party scenario, called Call From The Deep. Actually I highly recommend to check the scenario out if you're a Dungeonmaster, because it's way better than almost all of the current official D&D scenarios. And my group feel way better with this 3rd party scenario. You can check it out from here and here. Actually I re-design most of the combat, because I let the group to have lots of stuff and now all of the combats are easy for them. But raising CRs a little bit up solved everything.
On a random day, I started to run a solo game of Ironsworn. It's a free survival dark-fantasy game which has Apocalypse Engine mechanics. It's quite hard to run a game being a player and GM at the same time. I'm still trying to understand how to keep it going.
Other than that, I'm trying to read more rulebooks and discussions, trying to watch movies and read comics and novels to improve myself on creativity. Also I'm trying to spend my time here for you people to have some interaction with new people! I hope you like this post, and I would like to learn about your stuff. It doesn't have to be strict to tabletop RPG by the way. It could be visual design, miniature painting, anything related with this hobby.
See you on the next post!
Edit: I accidently sent the post without finishing it, sorry for that :(
