Introduction Post to Lore Series: Warhammer 40,000

I’m excited to share that I’ll be posting frequently about Warhammer lore, covering both the fantasy setting and 40k universe. For starters, we’ll be diving exclusively into Warhammer 40,000!⚔️🔥👾
This post serves as an introduction to what’s in store over the next few months.
Here's what you can expect:
Slow-Grow League Participation (@xenowolfza/the-10-000-and-the)
This year, I’m once again participating in the slow-grow league for both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar (Warhammer Fantasy) at our local hobby store as from February 2025. In the 40k setting, I’ll be building a Necron army up to 2000 points. For Age of Sigmar, I’ll be working on a Stormcast Eternals army also up to 2000p, with some added great help from my friend and fellow wargamer, @zakludick, who has already been helping me build some models. (The painting is up to me!)
Lore Focus
My posts will focus specifically on the Necrons and Stormcast Eternals, occasionally touching on other factions as they intersect with these two. This will allow me to learn more about their histories while sharing that knowledge with you.
Painting and Progress Updates
Between lore posts, I’ll share updates on the progress of my armies and painting projects. Painting miniatures is a big passion of mine, and I can’t wait to showcase my work as it evolves!

A Glimpse Into Necron Lore
The Necrons are a mysterious xenos species of humanoid, robotic skeletal warriors who have lain dormant in their stasis-tombs for over 60 million Terran years. Now, however, they are beginning to awaken.
They are soulless creations—once the servants, and now the captors, of the ancient C’tan, the terrible Star Gods of Aeldari myth.
Ancient beyond reckoning, the Necrons predate even the birth of the Aeldari. As they rise from their Tomb Worlds, the galaxy is ripe for conquest and the restoration of the Necron Empire, long lost since the disappearance of the Old Ones over 60 million standard years ago.
