[ENG/ESP] Necklace with wool and studs with punk style./ Collar con lana y tachas con estilo punk.

For all jewelry fans and with special pleasure today I share with you this necklace that is a combination of styles since it is woven in wool with the crochet technique that gives it a romantic touch but by placing several silver studs gives it a punk or rocker touch that gives it a lot of strength and presence. Again this necklace comes from the idea of using the wool I had left over from the headband I made for my daughter, and both crafts could be part of the same collection. I'm already imagining that I'm a designer, dreaming doesn't cost anything, right? Well friends, now I leave you every detail of the process of making this necklace:

Para todos los fanáticos de la joyería y con especial agrado hoy comparto con ustedes este collar que es una combinación de estilos ya que esta tejido en lana con la técnica de crochet que le da un toque romántico pero al colocar varias tachas de color plata le da un toque punk o rockero que le da mucha fuerza y presencia. Nuevamente este collar surge de la idea utilizar la lana que me quedo de la diadema que hice para mi hija, y ambos trabajos artesanales podrían ser parte de una misma colección. Ya me estoy imaginando que soy diseñadora, soñar no cuesta nada, cierto?. Bien amigos, ahora les dejo cada detalle del proceso de elaboración de este collar:

This consists of 5 crocheted circles presented as follows: A circle of approximately 5 centimeters which is the central one, 2 contiguous circles of 3 centimeters and two more of 1.5 centimeters. We start by making the largest circle with an open stitch and make 15 stitches around it. We pull the central thread and all the knitted stitches around it are joined together forming a circle. We pass the needle through the adjoining stitch and close the circle. We knit 3 purl stitches and a medium high stitch in the stitch next to it followed by a purl stitch. Do not forget to knit the purl stitch because this will be the one that will give width to our circle. In this way we continue to apply medium-high stitches with knit stitches until we finish the whole circle and we make a closing stitch. Now we have the disk of 5 centimeters approximately.

Este consta de 5 círculos tejidos con crochet presentados de la siguiente manera: Un círculo de aproximadamente 5 centímetros que es el central, 2 circulos contiguos de 3 centímetros y dos más de 1,5 centímetros. Empezamos realizando el círculo más grande con un punto abierto y hacemos 15 puntos alrededor. Tiramos del hilo central y todos los puntos tejidos alrededor se juntan formando un círculo. Pasamos la aguja por el punto contiguo y cerramos el círculo. Tejemos 3 puntos al aire y un punto medio alto en el punto de al lado seguido de un punto al aire. No olvidemos hacer el punto al aire porque este será el que le de amplitud a nuestro círculo. De esta manera seguimos aplicando puntos medio altos con punto al aire hasta terminar todo el círculo y hacemos un punto de cierre. Ya tenemos el disco de 5 centímetros aproximadamente.

We make again an open stitch and knit around 9 stitches, we pull the central son and we have a circle that we close with a stitch. We knit two stitches in the air and in the next stitch we knit a half stitch plus one stitch in the air. The half stitch will give height to the circle, and the single crochet is the one that will give the width. We continue knitting until we close the circle of 3 centimeters approximately. We repeat the whole process since we will need two 3 centimeter circles. For the smaller circles we knit the first part of this step, that is, the open stitch with 9 stitches around it and the closing stitch. We make two to obtain the 1.5 centimeter circles.

Hacemos nuevamente un punto abierto y tejemos alrededor 9 puntos, tiramos del hijo central y tenemos un círculo que cerramos con un punto. Tejemos dos puntos al aire y en punto inmediato realizamos medio punto más un punto al aire. El medio punto le dará altura al círculo y el punto al aire es el que dará la amplitud. Seguimos tejiendo hasta cerrar el círculo de 3 centímetros aproximadamente. Repetimos todo el proceso ya que necesitaremos dos de 3 centímetros. Para los círculos más pequeños hacemos la primera parte de este paso, es decir, el punto abierto con 9 puntos alrededor y el punto de cierre. Realizamos dos para obtener los círculos de 1,5 centímetros.

To assemble the necklace we join two strands of wool by folding in half. We pass the double wool in the middle of the hole of the larger circle and make a stitch passing the needle in the middle of the circle, then we place the medium circle next to the large one and pass the needle through the hole of the medium circle bringing the double wool to the front, this step will give rise to a new stitch. Repeat with the smaller circle. The idea is to go through the circles with the needle and knit a stitch over them so that they are joined together. If it is easier for you, you can join them together using needle and black thread, but I wanted to do it with the wool to give more structure to the necklace. When we finish joining the circles we make 25 stitches in the air and we will have the cord to hold on one side. Repeat the whole process on the other side.

Para ensamblar el collar juntamos dos hebras de lana doblando a la mitad. Pasamos la lana doble en medio del agujero del círculo más grande y hacemos un punto pasando la aguja en medio del círculo, luego colocamos el círculo mediano al lado del grande y pasamos la aguja por el agujero del círculo medianos trayendo la lana doble hacia el frente, este paso dará origen a un nuevo punto. Repetimos con el círculo más pequeño. La idea es ir atravesando los círculos con la aguja e ir realizando un punto por encima para que quede unidos. Si se les hace más fácil se pueden unir cociendo con aguja e hilo negro, pero quise hacerlo con la lana para darle más estructura al collar. Al terminar de unir los círculos hacemos 25 puntos al aire y tendremos el cordón para sujetar de un lado. Repetimos todo el proceso del otro lado.

When we have the whole necklace assembled, we proceed to embed the studs. These have a couple of teeth on the back and it is super easy to glue them to the wool, we just have to be careful not to hurt ourselves. We place one in the small and medium circles and in the big one we place four to give symmetry.

Cuando ya tenemos todo el collar armado, procedemos a incrustar las tachuelas. Estás tienen un par de dientes en la parte de atrás y es súper fácil pegarlas a la lana, solo debemos tener cuidado de no hacernos daño. Colocamos una en los círculos pequeños y medianos y en el grande colocamos cuatro para dar simetría.
