This metal can be recycled endlessly.
When I bought some gold in 2003, its price was 5x cheaper (!) 
With some YouTube-tutorials I could make this chain really easily.
Urban mining (= winning gold from old time e-waste, specific components) tutorial watching didn't make me proceed with it - strong acids en melting torch after series of chemical "raffinary"** - and it's way better not to loot designated recycling bins (for the environment)
