Hello Hivers!
It's a pleasure for me to write this blog and hopefully contribute to the Philippine Travel Community on Hive.
Last month, I went to Cebu City both for a vacation and to attend the Bull or Bear Grand Debate where I met some of our fellow Hivers and they were kind enough to help me with this video that I posted. Thank you friends!
Anyway, this post will feature our Cebu City tour with freedom for less. Yes, it's with freedom as we got to decide where to go and how long we will be staying in the place.
Cebu Getaway for Less
Mik and I only had a little over 48 hours to stay in Cebu and we did not make plans as online travel agencies require at least 8 people in a group for you to avail the cheapest price available per head. Since it's only just the two of us, we would be paying twice the price had we opted for that.
Luckily, we found a super accommodating taxi driver, Kuya Ronilo, who agreed to take us to the tourist destinations within Cebu City for only 2,200 php. Yes, we chose not go to the spots in Lapu Lapu City because we had things to do later in the afternoon. I casually asked if there are drivers who do these kind of tours and he said all drivers do. Long story short, we made a deal.
The Deal
2,200 PHP for the following destinations (4 hours)
- Magellan's Cross
- Sto. Niño Basilica Church
- Cebu Herritage Monument
- Yap-Sandiego Museum
- Sirao Farm
- Temple of Leah
- Taoist Temple
- Drop-off at the hotel
It was good enough for us as it was only 10 in the morning when we hopped onto his cab. That meant we can go back to the hotel to get some rest and freshen up before heading out again. However, we forgot to take into consideration our lunch time which pretty much took maybe an hour from us and so the tour was extended. Good thing Kuya Ronilo was so chill and did not even mention it. We traded Taoist Temple for the House of Lechon to have lunch and we do not in any way regret it.
Here are some photos we have taken during this trip.
📍 Magellan's Cross
📍 Sto. Niño Basilica
📍 Cebu Herritage
📍 Yap-sandiego Ancestral House
📍 House of Lechon
Soooo good! The only thing left was rice. We loved everything! Broken Glass (not on the photos) is a must-try dessert!
📍 Sirao Farm 🌻🌻🌻
📍 Temple of Leah
I posted this travel video on tiktok. You may check it out and also follow me on there!

Bonus: On the same day I watched the Bull or Bear Debate where I met our fellow Hivers.
There were also a group of teachers who were also Hivers but I unfortunately did not get the chance to chat with them. It's awesome meeting new people from the community eh?
This has been long overdue and I will be traveling again in the next days. I really would like to start a small community of Hivers in my hometown where little to no people know about Hive. I would love to educate them about how this works and what opportunities it can offer. They need to know.
You will be seeing another travel blog from me in the next coming weeks as I will be out of the metro and out of the country in the next 30 days. See ya!
