It's another beautiful day out here and i hope you are all doing great, it's so nice to always come here to share with you in this great community different creativity made by me in my little sewing room and i appreciate everyone of you for you love and support to my blog. I love making and trying out new things and the beautiful part is how useful these items can be for me, friends, family and people around me. Today i will be sharing with you the creative design of a simple drawstring bag i recently made which can be useful for different purposes.
Sometimes, most of us might be thinking of giving out gift to someone and how to wrap or present these gift items can be worrisome, this is one of the perfect way you can wrap your gift, all you need do is to make this and have your gift items in it, with the drawstrings, it can be knotted together to secure the items in it
It can also serve as a bottle holder, a cosmetics bag or whatever you desire to use it for and im sure this will be so perfect for the purpose.
Let me take you through the simple step by step process of making this drawstring bag
To start with, i measured and cut out 20 x 8" of fabric with interfacing ironed on it and lining of same shape was cut out
I measured and cut out 2 pieces of another plain fabric measuring 8 x 3"
It was folded in on both sides and neatly ironed before it was folded in two just as seen below
The same process was repeated on the other piece as well
I made a notch on all the pieces at the middle and i placed the small piece on the main fabric middle to middle notches and it was sewn together
After sewing the two together, the lining was also placed on the right side notch to notch and it was sewn together at the top and bottom
Then i folded the lining to lining and fabric to fabric with the center being equal
At the four edges, i marked 1 x 1" and it was all cut out
It was taken to the sewing machine and i sew on both sides leaving a small opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out
All the edges were sewn together and i turned it inside out through the opening on the lining
I top stitched on the tip round and its already looking nice
For the drawstring, i cut out a bias tape of 30" in two places, it was folded and sewn together to make a rope
Finally, each rope was inserted in the loop to the right and to the left, it wes gathered together and this is the final and beautiful outcome.
