Saludos, hivers lectores. Como siempre, yo he llegado al concurso en los últimos días, pero realmente he tenido problemas de electricidad e internet que no me permiten conectarme. Con tan buena suerte que hoy solo han sido bajones, por lo que vengo rápido a dejar mi entrada para el concurso de @diyhub correspondiente al mes de noviembre con un tema bastante interesante que me puso a pensar. Me sentía como un tren con el humo en mi cabeza, ¡ja, ja! Es solo una broma; lo cierto es que este tema de los 4 Elementos da mucho para crear, por lo que les traigo una flor que me encanta y tiene que ver mucho con el elemento agua.
Greetings, hivers readers. As usual, I have arrived to the contest in the last few days, but I have really had electricity and internet problems that do not allow me to connect. With such good fortune that today it's only been downs, so I come quickly to leave my entry for @diyhub's contest for the month of November with a rather interesting topic that got me thinking. I felt like a train with smoke in my head, ha ha! Just kidding; the truth is that this theme of the 4 Elements gives a lot to create, so I bring you a flower that I love and has to do a lot with the water element.
Se trata de la flor de loto, muy conocida por poseer pétalos espléndidos y, como todos sabemos, es una planta flotante. Mi creación está basada básicamente en el reciclaje porque mi principal material es la botella plástica. Es una manualidad muy sencilla y no requiere de muchos materiales. Al principio pensé en trabajar con dos elementos, pero a medida que avanzaba en la creación, me di cuenta de que el elemento agua debía resaltar en esta presentación, dado que es el hábitat de esta linda flor.
It is the lotus flower, well known for having splendid petals and, as we all know, it is a floating plant. My creation is basically based on recycling because my main material is the plastic bottle. It is a very simple craft and does not require many materials. At first I thought of working with two elements, but as I progressed in the creation, I realized that the water element should stand out in this presentation, since it is the habitat of this pretty flower.

Lo primero que necesitamos hacer es retirar el papel que trae la botella y luego lavarla muy bien por dentro y por fuera para eliminar pega y restos de líquido, así el trabajo quedará mucho mejor.
The first thing we need to do is remove the paper that comes with the bottle and then wash it very well inside and out to remove glue and traces of liquid, so the work will be much better.
Una vez limpia la botella, cortamos con ayuda de la tijera la parte inferior y superior de la misma, de manera que nos queden tres partes; es decir, parte superior, centro e inferior.
Once the bottle is clean, we cut with the help of the scissors the lower and upper part of the bottle, so that we have three parts; that is to say, upper part, center and lower part.
Con la parte inferior comenzamos a trabajar la base de la flor, dibujando con el marcador los pétalos en esa parte que se ve precisamente como pétalos de flores y luego con la tijera recortamos los bordes de los pétalos para separar uno del otro.
With the lower part we begin to work the base of the flower, drawing with the marker the petals in that part that looks precisely like flower petals and then with the scissors we cut the edges of the petals to separate one from the other.
La parte del centro de la botella la vamos a cortar a la mitad para poder abrirla y dibujar con el marcador los pétalos más grandes y los medianos, normalmente esta flor lleva cinco petalos pero siempre es bueno tener de más por si alguno se daña al cortarlo o simplemente realizamos varias capas de pétalos.
The center part of the bottle we will cut it in half to open it and draw with the marker the largest and medium petals, normally this flower has five petals but it is always good to have more in case one is damaged when cutting it or simply make several layers of petals.
Continuamos con la parte superior de la botella, donde también sacamos más pétalos, pero esta vez los pétalos serán los más pequeños. Realmente, entre los pequeños y medianos la diferencia no es mucha. Entre pétalos medianos y pequeños salen veinte en total, pero en mi flor usé solo dieciocho.
We continue with the upper part of the bottle, where we also take out more petals, but this time the petals will be the smallest ones. Actually, there is not much difference between the small and medium ones. Between medium and small petals there are twenty petals in total, but in my flower I used only eighteen.
Calentar la pistola de silicon para comenzar a pegar los pétalos grandes encima de la base. Como pueden observar, solo usé cinco pétalos.
Heat the silicone gun to start gluing the large petals on top of the base. As you can see, I only used five petals.
Luego continúe colocando los medianos y encima de ellos los pequeños, a estos pétalos podemos darle forma con un encendedor, pero yo preferí hacer con los dedos tomando la parte inferior de cada uno para doblarlos de manera que al colocar el silicon en esa parte del pétalo quede levantado y así se van acoplando hasta obtener la forma de lo que es el lotus.
Then continue placing the medium ones and on top of them the small ones, these petals can be shaped with a lighter, but I preferred to do it with my fingers taking the lower part of each one to bend them so that when the silicon is placed on that part of the petal it is lifted and so they are coupled until the shape of what is the lotus is obtained.
Una vez armada la flor, comenzamos a colocar el esmalte principalmente en los bordes, buscando ese efecto real del lotus. Dejamos secar y ya tenemos nuestra linda flor flotante de lotus en representación del elemento agua.
Once the flower is assembled, we begin to apply the glaze mainly on the edges, looking for that real lotus effect. Let it dry and we have our beautiful floating lotus flower representing the water element.
