Have you ever been in a situation where you were given more than the balance for an item you bought, what did you do next? This was the encounter that made me closer to this neighbour of mine that lives in my neighbourhood, she has a minimart where she sells groceries, I had visited her store that morning to get some provisions and paid her also collecting my balance without paying much attention to what she has given me, I arrived home try to arrange the thongs I got in the kitchen, and also check the balance I got, only to be alarmed by the fact that the had given me more than my balance, I guess due to the crowd waiting for her to attend to them, she had made that mistake and probably doesn't know, unless she takes total account at the end of the day, immediately I tool my keys, locked the door and hurried back to her store, she thought I came back to get something else, instead, I handed her the excess balance she gave me, she was shocked and couldn't believe someone could be honest to return an excess pay, she couldn't stop thanking me, and from then henceforth we became closer, she asked of my kind of job and I excitedly told her I makes dresses, she collected my number and would always come around since we live close by, she never stops admiring any dress i display with my mannequin whenever she passes by or visits, and always promises that she would bring her fabric for me to make her a dress.

A few weeks back she fulfilled that promise and brought a beautiful fabric for me to make her a beautiful dress, leaving the styling decision for me to make, she has a beautiful figure, and I know just the perfect style to accentuate her shape, I decided to make her a Basque transition gown, I showed her the style inspiration on my phone, and she was ok with it, so I started working on the fabric.
Materials used
lace fabric
Dutchess fabric
Satin fabric(Used as lining)
Zipper
Cutting and Sewing Process
Step 1
I started by drafting the upper front side of the dress, using a bustier pattern, and I would be combining the lace and Duchess fabric to form the transition
Step 2
Next, I drafted the upper back pattern, now using the lace fabric, and the Satin fabric as the base of the lace
Step 3
I joined all upper front patterns together and also turned them using their lining piece.
Step 4
I joined and turned the back patterns together using its lining piece.
front skirt
back skirt
Step 5
** Now to the base of the dress, I cut out a straight skirt pattern for both the front and back, using the lace, and also turned it using its satin part.
Step 6
I shaped the Basque shape of the upper side on the lower front side of the dress before joining.
Step 7
I also joined the upper and lower back parts together and added a zipper, for easy wearing
Step 8
Finally, I joined the front and back together, and attached a basic three-quarter sleeves. Here is the beautiful final look,
She had planned to make it her Christmas dress, but couldn't resist the urge to wear it to an occasion, where she was complimented a lot on how beautiful she looked in her dress. You can see the difference between the real owner and the mannequin😅
Did you know that the honest encounter with her made her also recommend her friends to me as well, she also emphasized to them how I am trustworthy, so here I am encouraging everyone to be good and honest to everyone you have an encounter with, it pays to be good.
