Hi bloggers
Beautiful morning to you all
I get to sew this simple flare gown for a woman in my church with curtain material she bought but she decided to make it a dress.
I was given it was 2"yards each Separate making it 4"yards of material so I begin work by first joined the two together.
After joining I folded the Fabric into triangle shape and lay it down.
At the up side I measure the waist which is 34"inches then I remove the half length of 17.5"inches from the full length the remain will be the length of the flare that is measure from the round waist to the down.
Meanwhile after cutting the only appear at the back down which was much perfect cus it was not obvious at all.
Then I proceed to cutting of the upper part( half length part) I folded the material Fabrice into two .
So firstly I get the shoulder added 0.5inches to it for sleeve allowance rule-out the armhole length which is 8"inches.
I proceed in measuring the body measurements
Bust 41" divide into 4 and add seam allowance 2" inches
Waist 38 divide into 4 and add 2"inches for seam allowance.
I use the front to cut the back part also but leaving 1.5"inches for zipper allowance at the centre back.
Then proceed to cutting the facing to turn the neck for front and back.
And I cut the sleeve, the length is 13" inches add 2" inches to fold the down edge in, then measure the round sleeve.
Then I proceed to sewing
I first turn the neck with the facing then did the joining shoulder
Then I proceed to joining of the two side with 2"inches allowance.
After that I picked up the cut flare , I attach the round waist to the round waist of the half length part.
Then I fix the zipper
Proceed to sewing the hand together then I fix it. To the dress
That's how I make the curtain material turn to flare gown.
