A friend acquired this chunk of obsidian, and asked me to make it into a wire-wrapped necklace pendant for his daughter. I haven't really done this kind of project before, but I dove in anyway, and even my inner perfectionist is reasonably satisfied with the outcome.
I used 20 gauge (.81mm) copper wire to wrap the stone, and then I used my pliers to add those bent patterns in the straight runs to cinch everything tight once the basic wrap was done. Then, I made wire loops to connect to some black beads and copper spacers before attaching chain with jump rings. A toggle clasp finishes the lengths of chain.
I succeeded in keeping the ends of twisted wire from protruding, and while the loops could be a bit tidier, I think the issues I see only bother me.
