I came across a post yesterday about Bees and couldn't resist joining the challenge since I am also a bee but the sweet one. I don't sting but I can be very angry when people take my kindness for granted or disrespect me.
It's my first time doing something like this alone and it's been a long time since I even did it with someone. I do assist my kid brothers with colouring but not cutting, gumming and others. I don't really have much passion for it and with the inspiration coming from the community members, I might develop a for recreating, recycling, upcycling and others.
I made a bee from cardboard and this is authentic because I called my bee mates together and they gave me the idea. Despite having the idea, it was difficult because I hadn't done such before. I made several mistakes but in the end, I was able to get it done.
Material
Yellow paper.
Black tap
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
I made several mistakes before getting it right and noting the corrections required at every stage made me arrive at something a bit cool. I will skip the mistakes and just present the ones I got right.
- I cut two straight-long shapes out of the yellow paper. To make it easy, I just cut the end of the yellow paper.
- I covered one of the cutouts with black tape.
- I joined the edge of the two cutouts with black tape.
- I folded one on the other and I repeated the process till I got to the end of the paper.
- I cut a round paper to use as the head and drew the eye and mouth with a biro.
- I added the wings and tail and my bee is ready to fly.
