I remember my maternal grandmother always said that rattles make positive energies flow. Personally, I really like how they look as decorative objects, since they bring joy to the space where they are. In addition, their sound always transmits a relaxing and pleasant harmony to me. Therefore, I found no better union than this article with the sun, since the months when it shines the brightest are the most cheerful for me since I was a child, as they were the months when we went camping, to the beach and we had a lot of fun. So nothing nicer than to put these elements together and create a rattle with a sun theme.
It's not the first time I've made a rattle and it always seems a little complicated, so I take time to do it. Without further ado, I show you the materials I used and the process I followed.
Hola, amigos de DIY Hub. Esta es mi entrada para el concurso de este mes, cuyo tema es el "Sol". Tuve que correr para poder participar, ya que estuve pensando mucho en lo que podía hacer para representar este tema. Como vivo en un país tropical rodeado de playas y sol, no quería ser demasiado obvia y llevarlos por ese camino. Se me ocurrió la idea de escribir sobre un objeto que siempre ha estado presente en mi casa: "Un sonajero".
Recuerdo que mi abuela materna siempre decía que los sonajeros hacen fluir las energías positivas. Personalmente, me gusta mucho cómo quedan como objetos decorativos, ya que aportan alegría al espacio donde están. Además, su sonido siempre me transmite una armonía relajante y agradable. Por ello, no encontré mejor unión que la de este artículo con el sol, ya que los meses en los que más brilla son los más alegres para mí desde pequeña, ya que eran los meses en los que íbamos de camping, a la playa y nos divertíamos mucho. Así que nada más bonito que juntar estos elementos y crear un sonajero con temática de sol.
No es la primera vez que hago un sonajero y siempre me parece un poco complicado, así que me tomo tiempo para hacerlo. Sin más preámbulos, les enseño los materiales que he utilizado y el proceso que he seguido.

To start I cut the toilet paper rolls, cardboard and cardboard in different sizes according to the suns I planned to make, one big one for the top and three small ones, with some big beads and the little tubes to make it sound.
So I cut three circles from a 1 cm wide toilet paper roll, another one from a wider roll for the larger sun and a 7 cm diameter circle that will be the base of the rattle structure.
Para empezar corté los rollos de papel higiénico, cartulina y cartón en diferentes tamaños según los soles que pensaba hacer, uno grande para la parte superior y tres pequeños, con unas cuentas grandes y los tubitos para hacerlo sonar.
Así que corté tres círculos de un rollo de papel higiénico de 1 cm de ancho, otro de un rollo más ancho para el sol más grande y un círculo de 7 cm de diámetro que será la base de la estructura del sonajero.
Then I made cardboard circumference of the same size as the cardboard rings that will be the roundel of the sun.

Then I did the same with the yellow foami to cover the cardboard and give it the color of the sun. I cut 3 strips of foami 1.5 cm wide and 12 cm long and 3 of 0.5 cm wide and the same length. I also made 2 wider ones for the circumference with thick cardboard.
Luego hice lo mismo con el foami amarillo para cubrir la cartulina y darle el color del sol. Corté 3 tiras de foami de 1,5 cm de ancho y 12 cm de largo y 3 de 0,5 cm de ancho y la misma longitud. También hice 2 más anchas para la circunferencia con cartón grueso.
Well, when I got down to work I changed my mind because I thought it would be too heavy and decided to make only three suns, one larger and two smaller than planned, so I cut 1.5 cm to each circumference of the toilet paper rolls and also reduced two of the circumferences
Pues bien, cuando puse manos a la obra cambié de idea porque pensé que pesaría demasiado y decidí hacer sólo tres soles, uno más grande y dos más pequeños de lo previsto, así que recorté 1,5 cm a cada circunferencia de los rollos de papel higiénico y también reduje dos de las circunferencias
I started lining the rings with foami, first on the inside with the wider strip so that it would be enough to cover one of the edges of the circumference.
Empecé a forrar los aros con foami, primero por dentro con la tira más ancha para que fuera suficiente para cubrir uno de los bordes de la circunferencia.
I took a strip of yellow foami 2 cm wide and 12 cm long, folded it in the center and began to cut it in such a way that there were some pointed shapes and some flat ones. The pointed shapes are glued in the center of the 0.5 cm strip and then the ends are closed and glued, these are the smaller rays. The longer rays are placed by gluing the base of the ray to the band on both sides, between two smaller ones.
Tomé una tira de foami amarillo de 2 cm de ancho y 12 cm de largo, la doblé por el centro y comencé a cortarla de tal manera que quedaran unas formas puntiagudas y otras planas. Las formas puntiagudas se pegan en el centro de la tira de 0.5 cm y luego se cierran y pegan las puntas, estos son los rayos más pequeños. After gluing the rays to this band, glue it all around the edge of the hoop with silicone and then take the white thread and place it along the edge of the sun rays.

Next, glue the cardboard circles to the rings. Place gold foami on the outside of the circles and yellow foami on the inside.
Cut some golden foami strips in an arched shape and place them on the yellow foami on the inside of each sun and in the center put a white circle on each sun.
A continuación se pegan los círculos de cartón a los aros . Coloca foami dorado en el exterior de los círculos y foami amarillo en el interior.
Recortar unas tiras de foami dorado en forma arqueada y se coloca sobre el foami amarillo de la parte interior de cada sol y en el centro se le pone un circulitos blancos en cada uno.
To finish with the brush, put a little white glue on the sun rays and then sprinkle gold frosting.
Para terminar, con el pincel, se pone un poco de cola blanca sobre los rayos de sol y luego se espolvorea escarcha dorada
Then take the tubes and as they have a medium greenish tone I put yellow paint on them and with the brush I put golden frost only on the darkest part, not on the whole tube and let it dry.
Seguidamente se toman los tubitos y como tienen un tono medio verdoso le puse pintura amarilla y sobre ella con el pincel coloque escarcha dorada solo en la parte más oscura no en todo el tubo y lo deje secar.
I attached the suns with the shaded beads through the nylon threads, and also tied the tubes with the nylon.
Uní los soles con las cuentas matizadas a través de los hilos de nylon, y también amarre los tubitos con el nylon.
I started to decorate the base where all the threads meet. I covered the base with white foami and made 4 slots, through them I passed the threads and knotted.
I took a circumference of toilet paper roll and covered it with one of the yellow foami strips.
I tied nylon thread on the four ends of the hoop from which the whole rattle will hang.
Comencé a adornar la base donde se unen todos los hilos . Cubrí la base con foami blanco y realice 4 ranuras , por ella pase los hilos y anude .
Tomé una circunferencia de rollo de papel sanitario y la cubrí un una de las bandas de foami amarillo
Até hilo de nailon en los cuatro extremo del aro del que colgará todo el sonajero.
To finish the decoration I glued yellow foami all around the circumference that serves as a base.
I made some small white circles, cut a triangle and glued them as little flowers, placed them around the edge and inside I put a small golden bead, thus concluding this beautiful and laborious rattle.í
Para terminar la decoración pegué foami amarillo por toda la circunferencia que sirve de base.
Hice unos pequeños círculos blancos, corté un triángulo y los pegué a modo de florecitas, los coloqué por todo el borde y dentro puse una pequeña cuenta dorada, concluyendo así este bonito y laborioso sonajero.
